Publication number: 20160010980Abstract: A laser measurement system operates to measure portions of a vehicle, such as a vehicle frame. The measurements are used, for example, to determine if the portions of the vehicle are bent or damaged. The measurement system includes a laser scanner and at least one target assembly that can be connected to a point of the vehicle. The laser scanner emits a laser beam that is detected by the target. Time and laser position information detected by the target are used to determine the location of the target, as well as the location of the point of the vehicle. The location of the point is then compared to an original location of the point to determine if damage has occurred.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Robin L. Knoke, Matt J. Brunk, Mark W. Schulz, Eric J. Krause, Lee G. Macklem, William M. Roth, Daniel Darst

Patent number: 7181856Abstract: A laser measurement system indicates the difference between an actual position of a vehicle frame reference point on a vehicle frame and a normal position employing a rotating laser scanner; an electro-optical detector and a host computer. A positioning arrangement is also provided for positioning the electro-optical detector at a known distance from the reference point. In operation, the host computer queries the scanner and detector via a communication link, calculates the actual position of the reference point, and displays the difference between the position of the vehicle reference point on the vehicle frame and the normal position.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2005Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Inventors: Michael T. Patent number: 5581695Abstract: A source-level run-time software code debugging instrument (10) includes target access probe ("TAP") (12) and communications adapter ("COMDAP") (14) that process emulation commands provided by source-level debugging software operating on a host computer. The TAP includes a TAP CPU (28) that receives target CPU input signals and delivers target CPU output signals for controlling the execution of software code by the target circuit in accordance with command signals provided by the host computer. The TAP also includes programmable logic cell array (24) and RAM (34). The TAP logic cell array routes command and data signals to and from the TAP CPU, and the RAM stores an in-circuit emulation ("ICE") program used by the TAP to operate the target circuit. The COMDAP is physically separate from the TAP and provides an interface between the host computer and the TAP. The COMDAP includes a programmable logic cell array (44) and an EPROM (46).Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1994Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Applied Microsystems CorporationInventors: Robin L.
