Publication number: 20250364569Abstract: An alpha voltaic device for generating electrical power from the decay of alpha particles is provided. The device includes a substrate; an anode disposed on the substrate having an anode pad, a primary anodic electrode, and at least two branch anodic electrodes; a cathode disposed on the substrate having a cathode pad, a primary cathodic electrode, and at least two branch cathodic electrode; and an electrolytic semimetal deposited on the anode and cathode. The branch cathodic electrodes can extend toward the primary anodic electrode, and the branch anodic electrode can extend toward the primary cathodic electrode. Each of the branch anodic and branch cathodic electrodes can be interdigitated. The anode and cathode can be formed from gold (Au) and the electrolytic semimetal can be gallium (Ga). A process for manufacturing the alpha voltaic device using a photoresist mask is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2025Publication date: November 27, 2025Applicant: Avalanche Energy Designs Inc.Inventors: Daniel Velazquez, Daniel Merthe, Robin Langtry

Publication number: 20240347217Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for generating an orbital confinement fusion reaction are described. An orbital confinement fusion device can include a cathodic inner electrode defining a longitudinal axis of the device. The inner electrode can include an emitter material. The orbital confinement fusion device can include an anodic outer electrode, concentric with the longitudinal axis and defining a chamber between the inner electrode and the outer electrode. The orbital confinement fusion device can also include a plurality of magnetic field generators disposed in a coaxial arrangement relative to the longitudinal axis. The plurality of magnetic field generators can be configured to form a magnetic field parallel to the longitudinal axis in the chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2024Publication date: October 17, 2024Applicant: Avalanche Energy Designs, Inc.Inventors: Robin Langtry, Brian Riordan
