Abstract: A method for forming a corrugated paperboard and a container made therefrom is provided. The corrugated paper is formed with a first layer of flat paperboard to which a second layer of contoured paperboard is attached. The contoured layer of paperboard is further formed with a plurality of flutes, each flute including a first flute tip and a second flute tip, the flute being substantially vertical at the midpoint between the flute tips. The method of forming the corrugated paperboard container comprises placing the corrugated paperboard into a stamping dye which has a male dye portion and a female cavity shaped in the shape of which the paperboard is to be formed. The paperboard is then pressed between the dye and the cavity to apply a pressure to the paperboard. Heat is also applied to the paperboard simultaneously with the application of pressure. The dye is then removed from the cavity and the paperboard container is formed.

Abstract: An integral paperboard blank is provided for assembly with four corner posts to form a container for produce and the like. The corner posts are provided with nesting legs and slots so a plurality of containers can be stacked and nested. In addition, the container is provided with a flexible cover.

Abstract: An integral box component for a container including paperboard center and side sheets spaced apart and secured to a primary base sheet of paperboard and covered with bottom and top layers of paper wrap material to seal the paperboard sheets against moisture. The method comprises forming the center and side sheets and securing them to the primary base sheet and then securing the top and bottom wrapping papers thereto. Other auxiliary steps are employed to form a completed box component.

Abstract: The invention features an apparatus for fabricating a box-like article or slipcase. The apparatus feeds a box blank from a hopper containing stacked blanks to a work station. The work station comprises a forming block about which the panels of the box blank are folded and bonded together, and clamping, folding and heating apparatus. The complete box is removed from the forming block and conveyed away which causes the fabricating cycle to process a new blank into a box-like article.

Abstract: A book cover having a reinforced hinge including a reinforcing member secured to the edges of the leafboards of the book cover, a hinge member secured to the outer surface of the reinforcing member and a central lining paper adhered to the inner surface of the reinforcing member, so that the composite structure cooperates to form a reinforced hinge for a book cover.

Each of the runners includes spaced, parallel corrugations and is also formed of a plurality of layers of paperboard material. A novel method is also provided for forming the pallet of the present invention.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a novel method of making a book cover including a pocket element wherein a continuous web of cardboard material and a continuous web of paper material are supplied to a work station where they are adhered to each other along their lateral edges. The composite web which is formed is then longitudinally slit at three spaced-apart locations to separate the composite web into first and second composite sections and to form pocket elements on each of the composite sections. These composite sections are then cut in a transverse direction at spaced intervals to form first and second book covers, wherein each of the book covers include its own pocket element adhered thereto.
