  • Patent number: 4860166
Abstract: A resistor terminating device is provided comprising: a substrate; and, a plurality of resistors supported on the substrate, such plurality of resistors having a plurality of electrically isolated connecting first ends arranged for alignment in overlaying relationship with a plurality of electrical conductive connecting leads adapted for electrical connection to such resistors. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a printed circuit board is provided having disposed on a surface thereof a pattern of electrical conductors with ends thereof disposed in overlaying relationship with, and electrically connected to, a selected one, or ones, of the first electrode ends of the resistors.

  • Patent number: 4691148
Abstract: The foot-operated accelerator develops digital signals progressively larger in number as the accelerator is moved through its range from a rest position to full speed. A variable transmission has a sensor that generates digital signals progressively larger in number as the transmission is shifted from a low gear ratio to a high gear ratio. For starting the vehicle, the accelerator lower digital signals cause successive connection of a plurality of batteries in series until the full operating battery voltage is applied to the motor. Thereafter, the motor operates at a constant voltage and vehicle speed is varied by varying the gear ratio of the transmission. This is achieved by a digital comparator that compares the accelerator numbers with the transmission numbers, and a lower accelerator number causes the transmission to shift to a lower gear ratio, and a higher accelerator number causes the transmission to shift to a higher gear ratio until equilibrium is reached in each case.

  • Patent number: 4539657
Abstract: Apparatus for storing a periodic signal and for recycling complete cycle portions of such stored periodic signal is provided, such apparatus comprising: means for converting an input sinusoidal signal into a corresponding first train of pulses; means for producing a second train of pulses representative of samples of the input sinusoidal signal; means for producing a signal related to the difference in time between the leading edge of the first train of pulses and the leading edge of the second train of pulses to provide a control signal related to a time interval between a first time such time difference is less than a predetermined value and a second later time such time difference is less than such predetermined value; storage means; and means, responsive to the control signals for recycling complete cycles of the first train of pulses through the storage means.

  • Patent number: 4380816
Abstract: Apparatus for storing a periodic signal and for recycling complete cycles of such stored periodic signal. Samples of a periodic signal are stored in a memory at a time commencing at the start of a cycle of the periodic signal. A first control signal is produced at the start of each cycle of the periodic signal. A second control signal is produced when a predetermined portion of the storage means is full. In response to the second control signal and one of the first control signals produced after the second control signal, a signal is produced indicating the portion of the memory having samples of complete cycles of the periodic signal stored therein, such indicating signal being related to the amount of samples stored in the predetermined portion of the memory plus the amount of samples stored in such memory between the time of the second control signal and the time of the one of the first control signals produced after the second control signal.
