  • Patent number: 11519596
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an illuminating landscape edging strip having an elongated edging substrate. Contained within the edging substrate are a heat sink disposed in a first slot along a long dimension of the edging substrate, a lighting strip disposed in a first channel along the long dimension of the edging substrate, and a lens disposed in a second slot along the long dimension of the edging substrate. The lighting strip abuts against and is thermally conductive to the heat sink. The lens is closely spaced apart from a light emitting surface on the lighting strip. The lens and the second slot open into light-emitting channel on a front face of the edging substrate. The upper edge of the light-emitting channel includes a bevel that increases the angle of light exposure.

  • Patent number: 6915901
Abstract: A package assembly holds at least one applicator nozzle tip and, optionally, a fluid-containing vial adapted for attachment to the nozzle tip. By providing the vial with a fluid-dispensing end, it may be used with or without the nozzle tip. When used in combination, the vial and nozzle tip can be employed to dispense, for instance, a medical adhesive to a wound site.

  • Patent number: 5771914
Abstract: A flexible fluid junction that links three or more fluid ducts is provided. The junction includes a pair of flexible webs with at least three tubes or fluid ducts disposed between the flexible webs. The outer periphery of the webs is sealed together and around the tubes to define a chamber. An end of each tube terminates inside the chamber so that fluid may flow from each tube through the chamber. Still further, a method of manufacturing a flexible fluid junction and a method of using a flexible fluid junction are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5743892
Abstract: A connector assembly and disinfectant system is provided for any system requiring a connection, such as during a peritoneal dialysis procedure. The connector assembly includes a transfer set connector and a disposable connector. The transfer set connector and disposable connector each include a member that join to create a fluid path. The disposable connector contains a housing that includes a ring partially saturated with disinfectant for bathing the transfer set member near the opening of the fluid path when a connection is made. The ring forms an opening through which the transfer set member passes. At disconnection, the transfer set member passes through a section of the ring having wiping properties to wipe the member dry.

  • Patent number: 5722976
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for surgically securing bone parts, in particular for transsternal bilateral thoracotomy. The apparatus comprises a base piece from which are protruding two posts welded or attached thereto which are internally screwthreaded and adapted to receive screws, and a plate with holes is adapted to be positioned over the posts and secured relative to them by the screws. In the method of securing the bone parts using the apparatus, the posts are inserted into holes drilled in each respective bone part, so that the bone parts are held together with their sawn surfaces mutually opposing, and the plate is positioned above the bone parts and screwed into position into the posts by the screws through the holes and the plate.
