  • Publication number: 20190271440
Abstract: A method of controlling an accumulation in a fluid system and associated apparatus is disclosed. The method comprises heating. The heating is adaptive or adaptable. The method comprises adapting the heating in accordance with a parameter associated with a development of accumulation. The parameter is monitored. An associated subsea heating system (20) for controlling an accumulation in a subsea flow line (28) is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20180283163
Abstract: A subsea pump system includes a subsea pump, a fluid conditioner tank arranged upstream of the subsea pump, a liquid conservation tank arranged downstream of the subsea pump, a line arranged to recirculate a liquid from the liquid conservation tank to upstream of the subsea pump, an umbilical which provides power, a monitoring and a control, a first buoyancy element suspended in the fluid conditioner tank, a second buoyancy element suspended in the liquid conservation tank, optical fiber sensors which are arranged at least to a suspension of the first buoyancy element in the fluid conditioner tank and to a suspension of the second buoyancy element in the liquid conservation tank, and electronics.

  • Publication number: 20180202432
Abstract: A subsea or downhole pump includes an inlet and an outlet. A flow of a multiphase fluid entering the inlet can have a variation in a gas volume fraction (GVF). The subsea or downhole pump includes or is operatively coupled to control devices which provide for a control as the GVF varies. The control devices include a first transmitter for an electric pump current, a second transmitter for at least one of a pump speed, a pump frequency, and a pump voltage, and a controller. The controller reduces a speed of the subsea or downhole pump when a measured pump current decreases, and increases the speed of the subsea or downhole pump when the measured pump current increases.

  • Publication number: 20180195362
Abstract: A production apparatus (120) configured to be connected to an emergency disconnect package (EDP) (135), comprises a housing (190) defining a wellbore (161); a first wellbore valve member (361) for closing the wellbore, the first wellbore valve member provided within the housing, the first wellbore valve member being capable, in use, of shearing an object located in the wellbore; and a second wellbore valve member (162) for closing the wellbore, the second wellbore valve member provided within the housing, the second wellbore valve member being capable, in use, of shearing an object located in the wellbore. The provision of a production apparatus with wellbore valve members and being directly connectable to the EDP, obviates the need for a lower riser package (LRP) which would normally provide the required emergency shearing/cutting and sealing functionalities.

  • Patent number: 9803471
Abstract: A subsea system comprises a multiplicity of subsea installations (M-1 . . . M-n) and a common transmission line (2a) in an umbilical for the conveyance of power or data communication electrical signals to the subsea installations. The system provides on the common transmission line a plurality of safety signals (T-1 . . . T-n) in the form of tones separate in frequency from each other and the other signals on the line. Each subsea installation is arranged to receive from the common transmission line selectively a respective one of the safety signals for the control of a fail-safe device (9) in the installation.
