    Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a plurality of user devices, UEs, configured for a sidelink communication using resources from a set of sidelink resources of the wireless communication system. The plurality of UEs includes at least one transmitting UE and at least one receiving UE, the transmitting UE and the receiving UE configured to use at least a subset of the sidelink resources of the wireless communication system for the sidelink communication. The wireless communication system is configured to allow a data duplication on the sidelink, wherein the data duplication on the sidelink is activated or triggered dependent on one or more of a sidelink quality of the sidelink between the transmitting UE and the receiving UE, and/or an occupancy of the sidelink resources, and/or data received by a network element/network function, and/or the application service running on one of the UEs.

The apparatus (1100) includes a processor (1105) that multiplexes the PSCCH with the PRS according to the multiplexing configuration. The transceiver (1125) transmits the multiplexed PSCCH and PRS to the at least one second device according to the PRS configuration and the resource pool configuration.

The apparatus transmits (1325) a final ranging round message to the responder device indicating a final round of the sidelink ranging session and receives (1330) a location measurement report in response to the final ranging round message.

The sidelink feedback indicates for a data transmission a successful or non-successful reception at the receiving UE. The transmitting UE reports the sidelink feedback to a base station. The base station provides to the transmitting UE, responsive to the sidelink feedback, sidelink resources for a possible retransmission of a data packet over the sidelink to the receiving UE. The reporting of the sidelink feedback to the base station by the transmitting UE is activated or deactivated responsive to one or more conditions.

One apparatus includes a transceiver that receives a configuration from a RAN for multiple sets of BFD reference signal (RS), multiple beam failure instance (BFI) counters, and an association of at least one BFD RS set and a corresponding BFI counter to one of a plurality of groups. The processor measures a signal strength on the BFD RS for each group and compares the measured signal strength with a BFD RS threshold value.
