Abstract: A method for converting a spreadsheet into a data model includes: obtaining the spreadsheet including a plurality of cells containing data; identifying local structures within the spreadsheet using attributes of the data in the spreadsheet; combining the local structures of the spreadsheet into a generic multi-dimensional model comprising dimensions and data cubes; generating the data model using the generic multi-dimensional model by mapping elements of the generic multi-dimensional model to elements of the data model; and displaying, on a display and to a user, the data model. The dimensions and the data cubes are the elements of the generic multi-dimensional model.

Abstract: Proposed are concepts of transforming a spreadsheet (or set of spreadsheets) into a knowledge base for analysis and error detection. Such a concept may convert a spreadsheet into an abstracted model that facilitates error detection. For instance, by turning the semi-structured cell-based data representation into a structured abstract model, it may be possible to perform analysis and/or error detection that would otherwise not be possible with the existing cell-based tools.

Abstract: A protective holder for displaying a generally thin article includes a first member formed from a translucent material and a second member which is permanently attached to the first member to form a pocket open along one edge of at least one of the first member and the second member for receiving such generally thin article. A flap is hingedly attached to the edge of the first member and movable into a position internal to the pocket for securing such generally thin article, wherein a portion of such generally thin article is caged between the flap and the first member and is further movable into a position external to the pocket for one of insertion and removal of such generally thin article.
