  • Patent number: 11684598
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a therapeutically effective amount of cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) in the treatment of epilepsy. In one embodiment the CBDA is used in the treatment of generalised seizures, preferably tonic-clonic seizures. Preferably the CBDA used is in the form of a botanical drug substance in which the CBDA content is greater than 60%, and most preferably, it is a highly purified extract of cannabis such that the CBDA is present at greater than 95%, through 96% and 97% to most preferably, greater than 98% of the total extract (w/w) and the other components of the extract are characterised. In particular the cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCA) have been substantially removed. Alternatively, the CBDA may be synthetically produced.

  • Patent number: 8670549
Abstract: Processing a communication received at a communications center over a communications network includes determining whether a sender of the communication sent previous communications to a communications center based on identification information obtained from the communication. Communication is routed to an agent, from a first group of agents, when it is determined that the sender did not send previous communications to the communications center. The communication is processed by generating a report by the agent from the first group of agents. Communication is routed to an agent, from a second group of agents, when it is determined that the sender sent send previous communications to the communications center. The communication is re-processed by retrieving an existing report by the agent from the second group of agents.

  • Patent number: 7545925
Abstract: A method and system are provided for improved routing of repair calls in a call center. A call routing system receives a repair call from a calling party and determines if the calling party is a first time caller or a repeat caller based on identification data associated with the calling party. If it is determined that the calling party is a first time caller, the repair call is routed to a first group of customer service assistants. If it is determined that the calling party is a repeat caller, the repair call is routed to a second group of customer service assistants. The calls may be routed based on an input entered into the system by a calling party. The input may be a voice command or a predetermined key on a telephone keypad.

  • Patent number: 6804674
Abstract: A scalable content management system manages searches from a local content manager and a plurality of remote content managers. A single scalable content manager manages data in a content repository or file system and its associated metadata in the same content repository or in a database, which will greatly simplify both content management logic and client application logic. The system architecture enables users to add scalable content managers as needed, which allows users to easily scale up the scalable content manager system, in both data size and user connection, as business grows. With the present scalable system architecture, a multi-node content management system will appear to be a single content management system to users, providing location transparency.

  • Publication number: 20040060602
Abstract: Systems and/or methods divert a fluid that has reached a preset alarm limit from reaching the point of use. The system may include a valve control unit; and a hydraulic unit operably connected to the valve control unit. The hydraulic unit may have first and second valves and plumbing pieces to connect the first and second valves to each other and the fluid system; the first valve being a normally closed valve that directs water from the fluid system to drain when energized; the second valve is a normally open valve that will turn off flow from the fluid system to the pure water distribution system. The methods may include flowing a fluid through a fluid system which includes a flow control system for preventing a fluid that has reached preset alarm limits from reaching the point of use; sensing when the fluid has reached the preset alarm limits; and signaling the opening of the normally closed valve; and the closing of the normally open valve to divert the fluid from the point of use to a drain.

  • Patent number: 6697818
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing a multi-tier object-relational database architecture are disclosed. In one illustrative embodiment of the present invention, a multi-tier database architecture comprises an object-relational database engine as a top tier, one or more domain-specific extension modules as a bottom tier, and one or more universal extension modules as a middle tier. The individual extension modules of the bottom tier operationally connect with the one or more universal extension modules which, themselves, operationally connect with the database engine. The domain-specific extension modules preferably provide such functions as search, index, and retrieval services of images, video, audio, time series, web pages, text, XML, spatial data, etc. The domain-specific extension modules may include one or more IBM DB2 extenders, Oracle data cartridges and/or Informix datablades, although other domain-specific extension modules may be used.

  • Patent number: 5508732
Abstract: A data processing system is described for providing digital video information on subscriber demand, for very large video data files. The system enables rapid response to the requests by network subscribers, independent of the number of video files offered for selection. The data processing system is coupled through a data switch to a subscriber communications network.

  • Patent number: 4181952
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and means for increasing the positional accuracy of operator controlled cursors engaged in the digitized encoding of graphic information such as line drawings. The method steps comprise those of digitizing the instantaneous contact position between the cursor and the data entry surface as reference coordinates; detecting any segment of a colored object upon the surface within a predetermined area about the cursor; ascertaining the location within the area of the centroid or the like of the detected segment; and digitizing said ascertained location as a displacement from the reference coordinates. Apparatus for practicing the method comprises an independently actuable cursor formed from a position encoder and an image scanner, the scanner generating a Boolean coded array of points counterpart to a preselected surface area.
