  • Patent number: 10614424
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for creating events in a calendar application by providing a user with a suggestion service (e.g., tool, function, etc.) for entering various details about the events. The event creation suggestion service is designed to provide the user with a single-box suggestion-like experience that allows the user to quickly and easily enter information about an event (e.g., event title, event location, event date and/or start/end time, contacts to be associated with the event, etc.). With each keystroke a user may be given a set of suggestions (e.g., auto-completions) to choose from. In this manner, the user may create detailed events by typing in one box as if the user is only entering the title for the event, and selecting from relevant suggestions that are provided.

  • Publication number: 20150199652
Abstract: A system and method for collaborative, synchronous scheduling is disclosed. Computing devices within proximity of a host device may participate in a group synchronous communication session with the host to collaboratively schedule an event. A date and time may be proposed for the event. This date and time is transmitted to all devices in the group. A calendar on each device may show the proposed date and time. A conflicts check may be performed to determine if the proposed date and time conflicts with any other prior commitments already scheduled on the calendar. If there is a conflict, a new date and time may be proposed. When all group participant devices have agreed to and accepted a particular date and time for an event, one event is created that is shared on a calendar of each participant device.

  • Publication number: 20150199077
Abstract: A system and method for changing event time zones in a calendar based on a user's location are disclosed. A calendar system may receive information regarding a user's location for a specified time zone. The calendar system may use this information for scheduling events for the specified time zone or for determining whether previously-scheduled events fall outside a preferred time period. Time zones and preferred time periods may be set by the user. The user may view the time zone changes as well as events in several different time zones. Other users may also view the time zone changes in a user's calendar.
