Abstract: A method for recalling a message and a device thereof are provided, thereby efficiently satisfying a message recall demand, and improving a service quality of a message service. The method includes: sending a message recall request to a message receiving device, in which the message recall request carries a message identifier of the message to be recalled and a message authentication header field, and the message authentication header field includes an encryption algorithm and a random number generated by encrypting a random number for authenticating the message through the encryption algorithm, so that the message receiving device determines the message to be recalled according to the message ID and the message authentication header field, and disposes the message to be recalled according to a local policy and a delivery status of the message to be recalled; and receiving a message recall disposition result returned by the message receiving device.
