  • Publication number: 20220238091
Abstract: An information handling system presents audio information as audible sounds that include noise cancellation generated in response to environmental noise patterns detected by a microphone. For example, a machine learning model generates noise cancellation for plural environmental noise patterns, such as a baby crying, a dog barking, and a door bell ringing. The noise cancellation engine selectively applies and disables one or more types noise cancellation with the model based upon context at the information handling system, such as an application running on the system, a time of day or other factors.

  • Patent number: 11106314
Abstract: Visual images projected on a projection surface by a projector provide an interactive user interface having end user inputs detected by a detection device, such as a depth camera. The detection device monitors projected images initiated in response to user inputs to determine calibration deviations, such as by comparing the distance between where a user makes an input and where the input is projected. Calibration is performed to align the projected outputs and detected inputs. The calibration may include a coordinate system anchored by its origin to a physical reference point of the projection surface, such as a display mat or desktop edge.

  • Patent number: 10846044
Abstract: An information handling system includes a redirection module and an audio/video module. The redirection module receives an audio data frame and an image data frame, analyzes the image data frame for a trigger event. In response the trigger event being detected in the image data frame, the redirection module replaces the audio data frame with a silent audio data frame and provides the silent audio data frame to the audio/video module. Otherwise the redirection module provides the audio data frame to the audio/video module. The audio/video module receives and transmits either the audio data frame or the silent audio data frame.

  • Patent number: 10228848
Abstract: Projected input and output devices adapt to a desktop environment by sensing objects at the desktop environment and altering projected light in response to the sensed objects. For instance, projection of input and output devices is altered to limit illumination against and end user's hands or other objects disposed at a projection surface. End user hand positions and motions are detected to provide gesture support for adapting a projection work space, and configurations of projected devices are stored so that an end user can rapidly recreate a projected desktop. A projector scan adjusts to limit traces across inactive portions of the display surface and to increase traces at predetermined areas, such as video windows.

  • Patent number: 10139929
Abstract: A totem device accepts inputs from an end user and communicates the inputs to an information handling system through a capacitive mat by moving an interactive portion of the totem relative to a main portion. In one embodiment, the capacitive mat integrates a display that presents input images proximate the totem, such as a volume gauge or mouse keys. Interactive portions include compressible materials that alter surface area pressed against a capacitive mat when pressed upon and plungers that move independent of a main body to press. In one embodiment, a camera captures images of the totem to enhance the distinguishing of inputs.

  • Patent number: 9983717
Abstract: Inputs to a projected or other type of displayed user interface are verified with a verification device that enhances input detection accuracy. For example, inputs at a projected keyboard are detected by an infrared curtain projected over the keyboard and breached by an end user finger as it strikes a key. The inputs are verified with a capacitive sensor device disposed below the keyboard that confirms a user touch. Alternatively, proximity sensing by the capacitive sensor measures distance and velocity associated with a finger to verify the inputs detected by breaching of the infrared curtain are intended inputs. Other verification devices may include an accelerometer that detects accelerations associated with inputs and three dimensional cameras that capture finger positions. Verification devices may be selectively enabled based upon power and accuracy constraints.
