Patent number: 9813403Abstract: Various methods and systems for securing communications with enhanced media platforms, are provided. In particular, an enhanced media platform is authenticated using a trusted location. The authenticated enhanced media platform establishes a bidirectional trust with an enhanced remote location, the enhanced media platform being stored in the enhanced remote location. Upon authentication and establishing the bidirectional trust, the enhanced media platform may securely communicate media content in a media content distribution service infrastructure while supporting custom functionality. The method for securing communications with enhanced media platforms includes communicating authentication credentials to an internal security component at the trusted location. The method further includes receiving validation credentials from the internal security component. The method also includes authenticating the enhanced remote location based on at least a portion of the validation credentials received.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2016Date of Patent: November 7, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Jean-Emile Elien, Daniel Collins Balma, Rocco Crea, III, Michael Brendan Frei, Paul Stephen Hellyar, Victor Tan, Kye Hyun Kim, Travis J. Patent number: 8856268Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for allowing the sharing of games and gaming profiles between console and web-based gaming platforms. The present system includes a console service through which console games may be played, and a gaming website through which web-based games may be played. Players may play games through either the console service or gaming website using a single set of identity and profile data that is stored in a central data repository. Using a single repository for profile and other data, players may log in, play games, access their profiles and friends lists, and accrue rewards and game credits, regardless of whether they are using a console or web-based game. In a further aspect of the present system, users of consoles may play the same game and same game sessions with web-based users.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2008Date of Patent: October 7, 2014Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jiunwei Chen, Rocco Crea

Patent number: 5418974Abstract: A system and method for designing a structure such as a circuit. First the sensitivity of a circuit performance function (sensitivity data set - SDS) to at least one physical parameter is determined. Then, an estimated distribution of the design function calculated by using the SDS and random parameter values. Subsequently, the parameters corresponding to the estimated distribution was used to accurately calculate the tail. The tail is compared to a predetermined design objectives. If the objectives are not met, the design is modified and the calculation steps repeated until the design objectives are met.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1992Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Barry G.
