Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for multi-subscriber identification module (SIM) connected mode operation. In one embodiment, a wireless communications device may receive, from an access stratum interface, a request access to the receiver chain during a receiving opportunity. The wireless communications device may determine that the receiver chain is available during the receiving opportunity. The wireless communications device may send a response indicating access is granted to cause the access stratum interface to receive a downlink transmission during the receiving opportunity. The wireless communications device may receive, from the access stratum interface, a second request for a transmitter chain during a transmitting opportunity. The wireless communications device may determine that the transmitter chain is available during the transmitting opportunity.

Abstract: The present application describes methods and systems for cell selection and reselection. One aspect describes the apparatus including a non-transitory memory including executable instructions for cell selection or cell reselection, which when executed by a processor, performs the instructions of determining one or more new public land mobile networks (PLMNs) have been selected. The processor is also configured to execute the instructions of scanning radio frequencies for one or more cells in one or more of the selected PLMNs. The processor is further configured to execute the instructions of determining the one or more cells to be an acceptable cell, a suitable cell, not an acceptable cell, or not a suitable cell.

Abstract: A network entity may determine whether a network context of a device is stored in the device or in the network based, at least in part, on a preference or capability of the device, as reported by the device during attachment to the network entity. The context may be stored in, and retrieved from, a dedicated context storage function that is independent of the network entity. A context storage function may be partitioned, or separate storage functions used, to automatically group and track access network contexts, core network contexts, or network slice contexts. The context storage function may provide to the device an index, such as a link or other identifier to be used in retrieving the stored context information. The context storage function may further provide a token to secure re-attachment communications among the device, the network entity, and the context storage function.

Abstract: A Sidelink AS group management function is disclosed for a UE to discover group members and organize them into AS layer sub-groups based on the AS layer group context information. A centralized Sidelink AS group management is disclosed that the Sidelink AS Group Manager discovers group members and organizes them into AS layer sub-groups for a UE. A Subgroup formation and configuration procedure is disclosed that SL AS Group Manager organizes the ULG into AS layer sub-groups, configures UE-to-UE relays for each UE in the ULG and sends the AS group management information to the UE. A distributed Sidelink AS group management method is disclosed that each UE discovers its group members and organizes the ULG into AS layer sub-groups. New Layer 2 structures and procedures are disclosed to enhance bearer management for Sidelink groupcast communications.

Abstract: The present application is directed to an apparatus communicating with a mobile core network. The apparatus includes a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon for configuring a service. The apparatus also includes a processor operably coupled to the non-transitory memory configured to execute the instructions of: (i) receiving, from a core network node, first information for accessing a Network Exposure Function (NEF); (ii) receiving a request for the service from an application on user equipment (UE); (iii) creating a request for the service; (iv) using the first information to send the created request to the NEF; (v) receiving a response from the NEF, the response includes a second information; and (vi) sending the second information to the application. The service includes one or more of buffering, background data transfer, communication pattern configuration, sponsored services, reachability, mobile originating/paging-off mode, and value added services.

Abstract: A device and method for registering devices on advanced networks as well as providing operative communications between a legacy device and a advanced network. The legacy device may contain data, such as sensor data, which is being collected on a network outside the communication range/abilities of the legacy device. An intermediary device may receive the data via a first communication scheme and send the device to a server collecting the data via a second communication scheme.

Abstract: The present application is at least directed to an M2M gateway apparatus. The apparatus includes a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon for service layer online charging of a service layer event. The apparatus also includes a processor operably coupled to the non-transitory memory configured to execute a set of instructions. One of the instructions includes sending, to a service layer charging function of an M2M server, a service layer rating request message for the service layer online charging of the service layer event detected by the M2M gateway. The service layer event is triggered by an application registered to the M2M gateway and that performs a read or write operation on a resource of the M2M gateway. Another one of the instructions includes receiving, from the service layer charging function of the M2M server, a rating response including the calculated amount of service units required for the M2M gateway to process the service layer event.

Abstract: A registrar entity, such as a service layer gateway, obtains the service capabilities requirements or preferences of a new registree entity, such as an application, and only accepts a registration of the registree if the registrar has sufficient remaining service capacities to meet the service capabilities requirements or preferences of the registree entity while ensuring that the provision of support to existing registree entities is not impacted. If the registrar lacks the capabilities to satisfy the requirements or preferences, it may contact a server to identify another registrar which has the capabilities. Updates to requirements or preference may originate at any node, e.g., at a user equipment device or a service.

Abstract: Methods and systems may be used to synchronize time across multiple IoT related entities, such as a network of resource constrained sensor and actuator type devices, IoT gateways, IoT cloud services, or IoT applications.

Abstract: A caching entity may store a cached copy of a service layer resource. An original hosting entity may maintain a registry of the corresponding cached resources. Optionally, the original hosting entity may set cache parameters to govern the lifetime of the cache on a caching entity. The caching entity may keep storing the cached copy of the resource and the original hosting entity may obtain statistics about the cached resource. By knowing the statistics, e.g. how many times a resource is retrieved on each caching entity, the original hosting entity may better manage the resource.

Abstract: The present application is at least directed an apparatus including a non-transitory memory and a processor that is operably coupled to the non-transitory memory for managing a server transition with a service for user equipment (UE). The processor is configured to perform the instructions of receiving, at a core network, a first request from a first server to switch responsibility of the service to a second server to communicate with the UE. The processor is also configured to perform the instructions of determining a first core network terminating point needs updating to a second core network terminating point. The processor is further configured to perform the instructions of selecting the second core network terminating point sends a result of the determination to the user equipment. The processor is still further configured to perform the instructions of sending, to the service, a notification the user equipment is associated with the second core network terminating point.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for allocating resources to a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) includes the WTRU transmitting a signature sequence to a Node B, receiving an acknowledge signal from the Node B, and determining a default resource index. The resource index is associated with enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) parameters.

Abstract: Embodiments concern a dynamic authorization framework. Security Classification Process (SCP) is the process of classifying raw data, information extracted from raw data, content or code from security-value perspective. Security Achievability Determination Process (SADP) is a process based on a SV/SC that has been assigned, the RHE may determine the Security Requirements and how the security requirements may be achieved. During the Security Achievability Listing Process (SALP), the RHE uploads onto the Resource Listing Entity (RLE) the URI of the resource, the SAM associated with the resource and optionally a digital certificate associated with the resource. During the SAM Assessment Process (SAMAP) process, a Client evaluates the security mechanisms that must be carried out in order to meet the SAM that was provided as part of the Discovery Process (DP). Based on the SAM obtained from the RLE, the Client may initiate a Security Achievability Enabling Process (SAEP).

Abstract: The network registrations of Internet-of-Things and like devices may be managed through the exchange of subscriber identity module and public land mobile network information. An exposure function may receive information regarding a device that needs cellular on-boarding, and pass the information to an operator subscription manager, and monitor a registration attempt of the device. The exposure function may process a request to allow transfer of ownership of a device, and such a request may include an expiration time, and an action to be taken upon expiry. The exposure function may also dis-enroll (off-board) devices. A central Equipment Identity Register (EIR) may store information relating to the home networks of devices, along with eSIM operating profiles of the device. An operator subscription manager may retrieve device information from a manufacturer server, create an eSIM operating profile, assign an IMSI, and exchange such information with entities such as user equipment and EIR.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) determines sidelink resources for use in vehicle wireless communications. Initial beam establishment uses a Sidelink Synchronization Signal (SLSS), a Sidelink Channel State Information Reference Signal (SL-CSI-RS), or a Sidelink Demodulation Reference Signal (SL-DMRS). Beam refinement may then be conducted either by UEs in communication with each other, or by just one of the UEs. A base station such as a gNB may assign resources for a dedicated sidelink carrier or a shared licensed sidelink carrier, e.g., dynamically, as pre-configured by RRC, or based on activation and deactivation. In such cases, initial beam establishment and refinement may include gNB controlled beam forming at a connectionless stage, gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to Tx UE only, or gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to both Tx UE and Rx UE.

Abstract: UEs' mobility may have a significant impact on sidelink communications and Uu mobility procedures of UEs participating in SL communication or SL Group Communication. Methods devised to optimize handover procedures, cell reselection procedures, and transition to RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE for UEs with ongoing SL communications. Methods are disclosed herein for PLMN selection for UEs requiring sidelink communication or with active sidelink communication, as well as, methods to provide priority-based resource allocation while using exceptional transmit resource pools. Also, provided are SL group management procedures to deal with impacts of UE mobility.

Abstract: A 5G non-IP data delivery (NIDD) architecture is described including different options of data paths for non-IP data delivery through a 5G core network. A registration procedure is provided with new parameters for enabling the NIDD. Also, mechanisms are described for establishing a PDU session between a UE and SCS/AS for non-IP delivery. For example, the PDU session may pass through an AMF, SMF, and User Plane Function (UPF)/NEF. Additionally, methods of Mobile Originated (MO) and Mobile Terminated (MT) non-IP data transfer are described. Data buffering methods are also disclosed.
