  • Patent number: 8936391
Abstract: The static mixer has a coupling section and a mixer housing in which mixer elements are arranged consecutively in the flow direction so as to be offset relative to one another by an angle, and are designed so as to apply an alternatingly directed rotation to the mixed material during the mixing operation. A mixer element has two transversal walls that are divided into sectors, the first transversal wall comprising sectors that are separated by an inflow separating wall directed to the inlet, and a separating wall directed to the outlet, the transitions between the sectors and the separating wall forming respective breakaway edges, the separating wall being arranged at an angle relative to the inflow separating wall, and the second transversal wall, which is divided into sectors, having an outflow separating wall directed to the outlet. Such a mixer allows a more efficient mixture particularly of very quickly reacting components and is also suitable for small dimensions as used in medicine.

  • Patent number: 8690012
Abstract: The dispensing assembly comprises a double cartridge having two storage containers with bags placed therein, a mixer that is connectable to the cartridge, and an opening means acting upon the bag. The opening means is arranged on the mixer housing and rotatable with respect to the cartridge and in one exemplary embodiment has a cutting member with two knife-edges that are arranged essentially parallelly to and spaced apart from the longitudinal axis and provided with cutting edges. Thanks to the rotatable knife-edges, such a cutting member allows a clean and predetermined opening of the bags and a dispensing operation with minimum pressure losses and lost volumes.

  • Patent number: 8662736
Abstract: A bone cement system (100) is provided having a mixing facility (10) for mixing and dispensing of bone cement, a reservoir container (112) for a monomer, and a conveyor (122). The mixing facility (10) has a mixing cylinder (20), which stores a bone cement powder. The monomer can be conveyed from the reservoir container (112) into the mixing cylinder (20) by the conveyor (122). A sieve element is (4) is arranged between the reservoir container (112) and the mixing facility (10), in order to prevent ingress of the bone cement powder from the mixing cylinder (20) into the conveyor (122). The mixing device (10) included a dispensing opening (23) for dispensing a bone cement mixed from the bone cement powder and the monomer. The dispensing opening (23) includes a shield (1) having at least one through-opening (2). The ratio of the area of the through-opening (2) to the area of the sieve element (4) is at least 1 to 3, and the distance between the shield (1) and the sieve element (4) is at least 1 mm.

  • Patent number: 8622244
Abstract: A dispensing assembly includes a double cartridge having two storage containers with bags placed therein, a mixer that is connectable to the cartridge, and an opening device acting upon the bag. The opening device is arranged on the mixer housing and rotatable with respect to the cartridge and has a cutting member including two knife-edges that acts essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bags within the cartridge. Due to the knife-edges being rotatable and arranged laterally with respect to the bags, the cutting member allows a clean and predetermined opening of the bags and a dispensing operation with minimum pressure losses and lost volumes.

  • Patent number: 8579131
Abstract: The invention relates to a teat for feeding bottles, including a receiving head, produced from a dimensionally stable material, and a rubber-elastic suction element. An entry channel leads to the bottle interior and channels lead from there to the outer surface of the receiving head. The suction element, in an initial position, elastically and sealingly rests on at least one section of an outer surface of the receiving head. Milk ducts are located in the contact area between the suction element and the receiving head and communicate with the channels of the receiving head which lead towards the outlet channel in the mouthpiece so that, when a vacuum is produced in the mouthpiece, milk can flow from the feeding bottle through the milk ducts to the outlet channel, the suction element being returnable to its initial position and the flow of milk being interrupted when there is no vacuum.
