  • Publication number: 20140013852
Abstract: In one embodiment, a pressure sensor assembly includes an accelerometer configured to produce a first current upon movement of the accelerometer, a capacitor configured to receive the first current thereby charging the capacitor, a gate element operably connected to the capacitor and configured to discharge a second current from the capacitor upon the capacitor attaining a threshold voltage, a pressure sensor configured to receive the discharged current to produce a first signal corresponding to at least one pressure reading of the pressure sensor, and a transmitter operably connected to the pressure sensor and configured to transmit a second signal based upon the first signal to an external device configured to store data corresponding to the second signal.

  • Patent number: 8516108
Abstract: A self-governing medical peer rating system for evaluating and rating health management content includes a subject matter expert (SME) registration module that accepts a subscription from an SME to an application for contribution of content by entering credentials of the SME into the medical peer rating system, a SME verification module that verifies a profile of the SME created by the SME, a SME approval module that approves the SME as a verified SME based on at least one of a positive feedback, a negative feedback, and a neutral feedback from a group of verified SMEs, a community member, and a member of an editorial board. A content creator module that creates the content contributed by the SME. A content approval module that approves the content upon the content being discussed or reviewed by any of the verified SMEs, the community member, and the member of the editorial board.

  • Patent number: 7931563
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for managing health of different individuals by means of a virtual trainer over a network. Reference training data is made available to at least one individual. The exercise motion of the individual or end-user is recorded by using a plurality of sensing elements. The exercise motion of the end-user is processed into a user data. The user data is forwarded to a remote server via a user communication device. A virtual coach application is provided in the remote server that compares the reference training data with the user data and provides a corrective feedback to the end-user. The corrective feedback to the end-user may be provided on the user communication device such as a personal computer, digital assistant, or mobile phone.
