  • Publication number: 20220160272
Abstract: A pen format liquid collection device includes an elongate generally tubular housing (12, 112, 212, 312) able to be held by hand and having an opening at one end, and at least one liquid take-up element (30, 130, 230, 330) mounted in the housing so as to be positioned or positionable to project at the opening, the at least one liquid take-up element then further postionable by hand manipulation of the housing to contact a volume of liquid to thereby take-up a sample of the liquid to be analysed. At least one retention element (230a, 330a) is supported in the housing. The at least one liquid take-up element and the at least one retention element are arranged whereby they are relatively movable into contact, and the at least one retention element is adapted on contact to in turn take-up the sample and retain the sample or a component thereof for in situ analysis or later recovery while protected within the housing. The liquid take-up element is preferably a capillary.

  • Patent number: 9157257
Abstract: A tamper evidencing device for protecting an article, whereby breach of the device in use is evidenced by the device itself or the absence thereof, includes an elongate band for encircling the article and a component for guiding the band about the article. The component is attached or attachable to the band. The component has a first guide or loop such that the band may be looped in a first loop around the article and thereafter guided by the first guide or loop to extend therebeyond in a traverse direction to said first loop to form a second loop around the article.

  • Patent number: 8474584
Abstract: A tamper evidencing band for encircling an article includes an elongate strip. The band is provided with a loop. The loop is such that attempted opening or removal of the loop will be evidenced by the band. The strip has a portion distal from the loop, which is insertable through the loop. Attachment means is provided to selectively attach the distal portion onto another portion of the strip to encircle the article whereby attempted removal of the attachment will be evidenced by the band. The tamper evidencing band may be provided as a flat strip with the loop unformed. Alternatively, the tamper evidencing band may be provided in kit form with a separate buckle to define the loop.

  • Patent number: 8388025
Abstract: A strip for tamper evidencing has a first layer and one or more reinforcing layers. An adhesive is provided on a first portion of the strip to selectively adhere the first portion of the strip onto the first layer of a second portion of the strip, wherein the first layer is such that removal or attempted removal of the first portion of the strip from the second portion of the strip will be evidenced by the first layer. The reinforcing material may be arranged such that portions of it are bonded to each other at a plurality of locations spaced along the length of the strip. A security system may include a tamper evidencing device and a receipt portion having corresponding unique identifiers, wherein the receipt portion includes a zip tab securing portion for securing zip tabs or luggage locking points and the evidencing device includes a trackable identifier.
