Abstract: A toy having a treat dispensing and sound recording and playback capability. The toy preferably comprises a ball that has an opening and an exit. A sound unit having recording and playback capability is removably secured to the opening. Treats are loaded into the interior space of the ball through the opening by removing the sound unit. A ring closure member is secured to the exit and restricts the size of the exit. A plurality of barriers are disposed about the interior of the ball. The barriers are preferably affixed to the inner surface of the ball. When the sound unit and ring closure are installed, treats are released from the ball, via the exit, by navigating past the barriers. Sounds can be recorded on the sound unit. The recorded sounds are selectively played back when the ball is manipulated by the user.
