Patents by Inventor Rodica Musat

Rodica Musat has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 8276426
Abstract: Laminations to be stacked as magnetic cores are produced from a very thin amorphous metal strip, using a punch press with accurate punch/die clearance. The laminations are collected on conveyor spindles or a transport rod or pipe, in either case being arranged without the need for substantial handling. Heat annealing and anti-vibration treatments can be applied along a conveying path. The laminations are grouped in a stack to define a core and are packaged or encapsulated in electrically nonconductive coverings. The finished core has advantageous electrical characteristics and low cost.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2008
Date of Patent: October 2, 2012
    Assignee: Magnetic Metals Corporation
Inventors: Rodica Musat, Frank A. Raneiro, Thomas H. Rooney, Jr.
  • Publication number: 20100157490
Abstract: A leakage current protection device with a single laminated magnetic core transformer that is formed by punch pressing an amorphous metal material, or a nanocrystalline soft metal material, in a high punch velocity press to form the ring laminations for the magnetic core. In a ground fault circuit interrupter, the single laminated magnetic core transformer serves as the input sensor for both the current imbalance detection circuitry and the low impedance ground fault protection circuitry.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 4, 2010
    Publication date: June 24, 2010
    Applicant: Magnetic Metals Corporation
Inventors: Rodica Musat, Frank A. Raneiro, Thomas H. Rooney, JR.
