  • Patent number: 8468738
Abstract: A fishers device that enables a hook and hook shaft to maintain a given compound angle with respect to a fishing line. A double eye hook has an upper eye and a lower eye connected by a lever arm. A fishing line can be attached to the upper eye and a tag line passes from the upper eye through the lower eye and the tag line is attached to a weighted member below the hook. The hook angle can be adjusted and once adjusted the fisher's device will maintain the desired angle. The arrangement improves the ability to hook a fish because the fisherman knows the hook is oriented with the hooking end up at all times, improving the ability to hook the fish in the roof of the mouth.

  • Publication number: 20130073423
Abstract: In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor-readable medium includes code to cause a processor to receive, via a first communication mode, a first indicator associated with a first user-performed process, and receive, via a second communication mode different from the first communication mode, a second indicator associated with a second user-performed process. The code includes code to cause the processor to identify, using the first indicator a first set of items for the first user-performed process, and identify, using the second indicator, a second set of items for the second user-performed process. The code further includes code to cause the processor to define a vendor-agnostic list to include the first set of items and the second set of items, and send a signal associated with at least a portion of the vendor-agnostic list to a communication device.

  • Publication number: 20130073392
Abstract: In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions to cause a processor to receive, at a time, an indication from a communication device that an item from a vendor-agnostic list has been located. The item having been previously added to a vendor-agnostic list in response to a user of the communication device perceiving an offline advertisement for the item, has been located. The code represents instructions to cause the processor to determine, based on a location indicator associated with the communication device, if the communication device is located within a range of a vendor substantially at the time. The code further represents instructions to cause the processor to store a relationship between an identifier associated with the offline advertisement and an identifier associated with the vendor if the communication device was located within the range of the vendor substantially at the time.

  • Publication number: 20110197577
Abstract: A pressure pulse cancelling device for use with hydraulic pumps/motors/transformers. There is a variable volume fluid receiving cylinder in fluid communication with the discharge line for receiving a quantity of fluid that equals the actual flow rate less the average flow rate in the pumping cycle. A piston or cam within the variable volume fluid receiving cylinder pumps the quantity of fluid received in the variable volume fluid receiving cylinder back into the discharge line when the actual flow rate is less than the average flow rate in the pumping cycle. A second variable volume fluid receiving cylinder is connected to the inlet line and receives a quantity of fluid that equals the actual flow rate less the average flow rate in the pumping cycle.

  • Patent number: 7841205
Abstract: A multi cylinder compressor/expansion engine having a centrally mounted drive shaft. A cylinder barrel is mounted on the drive shaft and both the cylinder barrel and the drive shaft rotate about a common axis. There is a plurality of cylinders in the cylinder barrel with pistons disposed in each of the cylinders. Some of the cylinders are compression cylinders and some of the cylinders are expansion cylinders. The compression cylinders discharge a fluid at a first high pressure from the engine. The expansion cylinders receive fluid at a second pressure which provides energy to the engine thereby reducing the energy required for the engine to rotate the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7116524
Abstract: An actuator assembly and method for orienting a head over a disc within a multi-disc servo-track writer incorporates an actuator block, rotational air bearing, translational air bearing, adaptor plate, E-block and actuator arm/head assembly. Rotation of the E-block, and hence actuator arm/head assembly, is directly controlled by the movement of the rotational air bearing, which is rotated by a motor. The air bearing provides for reduced friction and, as a result, decreased eccentricity of the head as compared to related art configurations. A translational air bearing laterally positions the actuator assembly within the multi-disc servo-track writer for servo-track recording.

  • Patent number: 6960769
Abstract: A single vane shutter flag is asynchronously controlled so that a measuring system light source is interrupted for a minimum necessary amount of time for standardization/calibration and normalization of InGaAs system detectors. Source/detector hemispheres or serially connected randomly oriented fiber bundles homogenize light passing to the detectors. Light source testing is performed by measuring spectral power distributions at a plurality of light source power levels and comparing the measurements to baseline characteristics established for the light source. Calibration sample life is extended indefinitely by controlling the shutter flag to block source light except for short calibration time periods during which standard light levels are provided.

  • Patent number: 6937433
Abstract: An air flow control device for reducing turbulence on a rotating multi-disc stack. Air flow control device includes a first air dam having cavities formed by a series of alternating plate sections forming gaps therebetween adjacent plates. Gaps define cavities capable of receiving discs when disc stack is rotating. A method for writing data onto an annular writeable surface of a plurality of discs including the steps of mounting the plurality of discs into a coaxial stack, extending one or more dam plates each between a consecutive pair of the plurality of discs and adjacent at least a selected one of the writeable surfaces; and writing data onto the selected surface while a first one of the dam plates overlaps enough of the selected surface so that the first dam plate limits a windage-induced error in the written data.
