  • Publication number: 20070140741
Abstract: Controlling the charge on toner in a development station of an electrographic reproduction apparatus, wherein data relative to latent image charge carrying member voltage and image density control patches are sensed and development potential to achieve an aim density is calculated therefrom. A delta from an optimum development potential range is calculated, and in response to the determined delta, an amount of liquid charge control agent, from a supply of suitable liquid charge control agent, necessary to be added to the developer material in the development station to bring the toner to substantially a charge level that will enable a desired optimum developer potential is calculated. The calculated amount of liquid charge control agent is then injected directly into the development station.

  • Publication number: 20070087283
Abstract: The present invention is a method of forming a toner image on a receiving sheet. he method includes forming an electrostatic image on a primary image member and toning the image with a dry toner to form a toner image. The toner includes toner particles having a diameter of between 4 and 10 microns and transfer assisting particles appended to the toner particles surface. The transfer assisting particles have a diameter of between 20 and 100 nm. The toner image is transferred from the primary image member to an intermediate image member having an overcoat layer, the overcoat layer having a Young's modulus of from 250 to 500 MPa. The toner image is transferred from the intermediate image member to a receiving sheet wherein the intermediate image member drives the primary image member or the receiving sheet.

  • Publication number: 20050244201
Abstract: A method for producing an enhanced gloss electrophotographic toner image on a substrate by passing a substrate bearing a fusible toner particle image through a fusing zone to produce a substrate bearing a fused toner image, passing the substrate bearing the fused toner image through a cooling zone to produce a cooled substrate bearing the fused toner mage and passing the cooled substrate bearing the fused toner image to a release zone where a cooled substrate bearing an enhanced gloss image is released, wherein the fusible toner particle image is covered by a clear toner layer.

  • Publication number: 20050244202
Abstract: Producing an enhanced gloss electrophotographic toner image on a substrate by coating colored fusible toner particles supported on a substrate with a layer of clear toner containing an offset preventing wax, transporting the substrate bearing clear toner coated colored fusible toner particles through a fuser zone to fuse the fusible toner particles and produce a substrate bearing a fused clear coated toner image, and transporting the substrate bearing the clear coated fused toner image through downstream glossing device to re-fuse the fused toner image to increase the gloss of the previously fused toner image.
