    Abstract: A paper core turnup apparatus for wrapping a web of paper about a core at high speeds includes a cylindrical core and a plurality of double sided adhesive tape strips. Each of the tape strips extends axially along an outer surface of the core, and is spaced from adjacent tape strips a predetermined distance. In a preferred embodiment, adjacent strips are circumferentially spaced approximately 12″ from one another.
