  • Patent number: 8860255
Abstract: A saturation control unit for an interphase transforming unit is provided. The interphase transforming unit has a primary coil and a secondary coil which are magnetically coupled via a magnetic core member. The saturation control unit includes a minimum detecting unit and a maximum detecting unit. The minimum detecting unit detects a minimum value of a magnetizing current of the interphase transforming. The maximum detecting unit detects a maximum value of the magnetizing current. A saturation estimating unit is provided for estimating an offset value of the magnetizing current. A saturation control signal generating unit is provided for generating a saturation control signal for the interphase transforming unit based on the detected minimum value, the detected maximum value, and the estimated offset value.

  • Patent number: 8724134
Abstract: A feedback scheme is provided in which a combination of function specific firmware and hardware are used to capture a greater representation of issues experienced by a group of end-users specific to particular product with which the combination of function specific firmware and hardware is associated. Product-resident hardware stores record of product usage, faults, interventions and maintenance associated with a particular time window so that product-generated data can be coupled with user-generated experience feedback. A digitally-recorded description of the issue with which the user was confronted that prompted the feedback, and pertinent time frame product operating data is combined and transmitted to a product monitoring center for compilation, analysis and review.

  • Publication number: 20130292899
Abstract: A printer extracts a media sheet from a plurality of media sheets in a media supply and moves the media sheet along a media path. A plurality of sensors on the media path generate signals as the media sheet moves past the sensors, and the printer identifies a cross-process direction dimension of the media sheet with references to signals generated by the sensors. The printer identifies the dimension of the print medium without requiring media size sensors in the media supply.

  • Patent number: 8542376
Abstract: Document processing devices and methods are presented, in which the device stores a remaining print unit value in its memory that represents the amount of print units currently available to enable the device to perform the document processing operations, and a programmable computer of the device selectively performs document processing jobs for users and decrements the remaining print unit value until the value reaches zero and the device provides for expenditure of print units according to color content and/or coverage levels determined for a given job.

  • Patent number: 8532506
Abstract: According to aspects of the embodiments, there is provided systems, computer readable media, and methods to authenticate a customer replaceable unit (CRU) in a printer system by comparing a validation code in the CRU with a printer generated validation code. The Validation Code is a string of numbers and/or characters that can be referred to as a value. The validation code will be comprised of a value string including programmed characters representing a combination of all or portions of a market program designator or code, consumable identification (ID) information and a randomly generated value, which may be hidden from view. The code is independently established by the printing system or device using the same algorithm and information and validates the resulting Code when they match. The printing system or device must confirm the Validation Code and ID applicability of the consumable to deem it appropriate for use.

  • Patent number: 8513911
Abstract: A power converter that interfaces a motor requiring variable voltage/frequency to a supply network providing a nominally fixed voltage/frequency includes a first rectifier/inverter connected to a stator and a second rectifier/inverter. Both rectifier/inverters are interconnected by a dc link and include switching devices. A filter is connected between the second rectifier/inverter and the network. A first controller for the first rectifier/inverter uses a dc link voltage demand signal indicative of a desired dc link voltage to control the switching devices of the first rectifier/inverter. A second controller for the second rectifier/inverter uses a power demand signal indicative of the level of power to be transferred to the dc link from the network through the second rectifier/inverter, and a voltage demand signal indicative of the voltage to be achieved at network terminals of the filter to control the switching devices of the second rectifier/inverter.
