  • Patent number: 9610696
Abstract: A clamping assembly includes a first jaw having a plurality of alternating grooves and lands formed thereon, a second jaw having a plurality of alternating grooves and lands formed thereon, and a spring provided between the first and second jaws. The jaws are pivotable relative to each other. The jaws are attached to a draw stud. The draw stud is formed from an elongated cylinder which has a conventional thread form formed on one end thereof and a plurality of alternating grooves and lands formed on the other end thereof. The alternating grooves and lands formed on the jaws mesh with the alternating grooves and lands formed on the draw stud to mate the jaws with the draw stud.

  • Publication number: 20070189860
Abstract: An insert for use in a cutting tool having two truncated, wedge-shaped faces, and at least two edge surfaces. The insert also has a retainer hole extending through the insert at a predetermined angle to accommodate an insert retainer. The insert is indexable by repositioning the cutting insert from one face to the other face. The inserts are disposed in a plurality of circumferentially-spaced seats about a working end of a cutting tool body. Each seat has a major seating surface for mounting the insert and for receiving a retainer at a predetermined angle. The seat also has a minor seating surface oriented to engage an edge surface of the insert and to reduce the shear force against the retainer during rotation of the tool body. The tool body has angled chip pockets, resulting in more inserts per cutting tool diameter and a greater cross-sectional tool body.

  • Publication number: 20050150110
Abstract: The present invention provides a part having passages from an internal surface to an external surface formed by the intersection of internal and external grooves. The present invention further provides a method of providing a part having passages from an internal surface to an external surface formed by the intersection of internal and external grooves. The part includes at least one internal groove located in an internal surface and at least one external groove located in an external surface, wherein the internal groove and the external groove intersect to form at least one passage between the internal surface and the external surface.

  • Publication number: 20050098003
Abstract: The present invention comprises a machining apparatus including a work piece holder having an adapter body with an axial bore and a translating portion located within the axial bore of the adapter body. The translating portion has a proximal end for coupling with a retention knob collet of a spindle and a distal end for attaching to a collet. The work piece holder includes a retaining piece coupling the adapter body and the translating portion allowing the translating portion to move axially within the adapter body. The apparatus facilitates a rotating spindle grasping and rotating a work piece to be brought into contact with a processing tool held stationary on a work table. The present invention also includes a fixture block for attaching milling tools and other devices to a work table and a method of operating a milling machine utilizing the fixture block and work piece holder.

  • Patent number: 6252480
Abstract: The circuit breaker of the present invention is a molded case circuit breaker 10 having a moving contact 42 and crossbar assembly comprising a crossbar 55 having a formation pivotally mounted in the circuit breaker housing 12 with the formation having two spaced apart sidewalls 842, with each sidewall 842 having a first cam surface 830, a cam node 832, a second cam surface 834 and a bearing surface 826. Mounted in the formation, between the sidewalls 842, is a moving contact arm assembly 811 that is mechanically coupled to the circuit breaker operating mechanism 40 and electrically coupled to the load terminal 16 of the circuit breaker 10. The moving contact and crossbar assembly 811 comprises a movable contact arm 45 coupled to a pivot pin 818 positioned between the sidewalls 842 and in rotational contact with a bearing surface 826 of each sidewall 842.

  • Patent number: 6198063
Abstract: A multi-phase circuit breaker assembly 10 includes a circuit breaker 12 having a housing 13 containing circuit breaker operating components and having a gas venting chamber 22 associated with each phase of the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker has a plurality of line wiring terminals 26 at a first end 14 of the housing. Each line wiring terminal corresponds to a phase of the circuit breaker. A terminal cover 30 is removably coupled to the first end of the housing so as to cover the line wiring terminals and prevent access to the line wiring terminals when coupled to the first end of the housing, and to gain access to the line wiring terminals only when removed from the first end of the housing. The terminal cover 30 includes a plurality of vent structures 38 integrally formed therewith.
