    Abstract: A system and method monitors a lamp assembly. Image data related to an object of interest is captured with an optical sensor disposed near the object of interest related to the lamp assembly. The image data from the optical sensor is provided to a processing circuit of a lamp monitoring and control device. The image data from the processing circuit can be transmitted to a base station using a transmit unit.
