  • Publication number: 20230177530
Abstract: A system and method for generating measurable social impact, the system and method comprising tracking a transaction, wherein the transaction comprises a purchase of at least one good or service, wherein the at least one good or service is associated with a social impact partner, and wherein the transaction is captured in a first blockchain record on a first blockchain, collecting a purchase amount of the transaction, sending, to a second computing device, at least a portion of the purchase amount of the transaction, wherein the second computing device is associated with the social impact partner, and tracking, at the server, a receipt of the at least a portion of the purchase amount of the transaction at the second computing device, wherein the receipt is captured in a second blockchain record on the first blockchain.

  • Patent number: 7419835
Abstract: A method for screening of compounds for binding differentiation at various drug target binding sites is used with a device measuring the enthalpy of reaction for the binding. The method includes merging test ligand with target compound and merging test ligand with target compound in the presence of at least one blocking agent. A first heat of reaction is detected for the merged test ligand and target compound solution and a second heat of reaction is detected for the merged test ligand and target compound solution in the presence of a blocking agent. The two heats of reaction are compared to determine whether a reaction has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20070247834
Abstract: The Brite Vest is an improvement to the standard traffic or safety vest in that it provides its own illumination during hours of darkness. The conventional vest relies on the illumination provided by a drivers headlights. Many times the distance at which a person is visible when wearing a conventional is too close to provide adequate time to stop. The Brite Vest provides additional visibility which translates into additional safety.

  • Patent number: 7202953
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for optically detecting at least one entity which is arranged on a substrate. The at least one entity is scanned with a measuring volume using at least one radiation source and a confocal optic. During a scanning process an auxiliary focus is generated by means of at least one second radiation source and a second optic. Radiation generated by the first radiation source is collimated by a first optic and radiation generated by the second radiation source is collimated by a second optic. A retroreflection from the auxiliary focus is detected by at least one detector and is used to measuring the position of an interface and, thus, for indirectly positioning the measuring volume. The position of the auxiliary focus relative to the measuring volume is adjustable in a defined manner.

  • Publication number: 20060183415
Abstract: A resilient rubber finger and a locking mechanism therefore for use in poultry processing plants for the plucking of feathers off poultry is provided. The rubber-plucking finger is comprised of an oversized base without an annular recess, and a tapered furrowed shank. A plurality of fingers is inserted into a support base through apertures therein. The diameter of the shank proximate the base is substantially equal to the diameter of the support base aperture to ease insertion and removal. A backing plate is provided to abut the rear of the support plate preventing accidental displacement of the rubber finger from the support plate. The support plate is attached to the backing plate using an integrated centrifugal locking mechanism within the backing plate.

  • Publication number: 20040074543
Abstract: For use in a shower installation, a mixer assembly with variable flow control insertable into a wall to have, when installed, a “front of wall” outlet for mixed water and a “front of wall” single control of both mix and flow to issue from said outlet, and an “in wall and/or back of wall” separate intake for hot and cold water. Preferably the assembly provides in use from the mixer assembly outlet a water flow via a flexible conduit to a shower head outlet. Such flow is controlled both as to water temperature and flow volume reliant upon single lever actuation of a rotor within the mixer assembly (preferably with a venturi draw in feature for that water feed of lesser pressure).
