    Abstract: The present invention provides a method of relieving pain and of treating inflammatory conditions in warm-blooded animals, including humans, which comprises administering to a warm-blooded animal suffering from an inflammatory condition a phenyl-alkanoic acid salt of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, R.sub.2 is a halogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms, which may be straight-chained or branched, for example an isobutyl radical, or is a cyclohexyl radical or is a phenoxy or benzoyl radical, which may be substituted by one or two halogen atoms, R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or an allyloxy radical or R.sub.2 and R.sub.
