  • Patent number: 6165441
Abstract: A method of therapeutical treatment of tumors, by photodynamic therapy comprising administering to a subject in need of said treatment an effective amount of a tumor-localizing photosensitizer consisting of a metal phthalocyanine, together with a minor amount of a tracer consisting of said metal phthalocyanine labelled with a radioactive isotope and non-invasively monitoring the concentration of said tracer in the target tumoral tissue and in the peritumoral tissue, thereby to identify the appropriate post-administration interval for performing the photodynamic therapy.

  • Patent number: 6127530
Abstract: The present invention relates in general to a method for the reduction of oxygenated compounds of rhenium and technetium and in particular to the reduction of perrhenate or pertechnetate ions.More particularly, the invention relates to reactions for the reduction of the said oxygenated compounds which are carried out in the course of the preparation of complexes of the radionuclides .sup.186 Re, .sup.188 Re and .sup.99m Tc; in these reactions, the radionuclide perrhenate or pertechnetate ion is reduced in the presence of a reducing agent and a ligand which can form a complex with the radionuclide in its reduced oxidation state.

  • Patent number: 5902566
Abstract: A process for the production of yttrium-90, generated by radioactive decay of strontium-90, by means of a generator including a column containing strontium-90 adsorbed on a cation-exchange resin, wherein yttrium-90, the decay product of strontium-90, is obtained by the flow of an eluent through the resin column of the generator, an acetate buffer solution being used as the eluent. The process enables a solution to be obtained which is usable directly for labelling protein substrates, particularly monoclonal antibodies, with yttrium-90.
