    Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing reinforced composite marble-like sinks and bathtubs. A sandwiched article is provided and wherein a polyurethane foam filler is interposed between a solid marble mix layer and a reinforcing layer of fiberglass reinforced resin embedded in the marble mix layer. The foam layer reduces the overall weight of such lavatory structures.
