  • Publication number: 20180037205
Abstract: A vehicle includes a vehicle body and a regenerative air brake system disposed inside the vehicle body. The regenerative air brake system includes a conduit, a turbine positioned in the conduit, and an electrical generator operatively connected to the turbine and positioned remotely from the conduit. The regenerative air brake system may be activated during vehicle braking events to assist in decelerating the moving vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9771887
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting operation of an internal combustion engine configured for dual fuel injection from a single fuel rail. In one example, a method may include directing fuel from a common high pressure fuel rail to one or more of a direct injector and a port injector, wherein each of the direct injector and port injector may be coupled to a cylinder of an engine. The flow of fuel to the direct injector and port injector from the single fuel rail is mediated by a flow selection valve.

  • Publication number: 20170200372
Abstract: A parallel parking system may include a controller configured to generate an alert identifying a discrepancy between a permitted parking distance that is defined by local requirements and a recommended parking distance that is defined by a minimum distance between an object adjacent to an available parking place to avoid contact with the object and an open vehicle door in a parked position in response to the recommended distance exceeding the permitted distance.

  • Publication number: 20170192091
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide an augmented reality reduced visibility navigation system for detecting objects under reduced visibility conditions using a vehicle radar system and an augmented reality display on a windshield or a rearview mirror. More specifically, in one embodiment, a radar-based vehicle control system of a first vehicle detects objects, such as other vehicles, in the vicinity of the first vehicle. The radar-based vehicle control system includes a processor to analyze any detected object, determine the location, distance, and speed of any detected object, and output the object information on an augmented reality display. In one embodiment, the augmented reality display displays a vehicle outline together with the location, direction and speed data. In certain embodiments, the augmented reality display is on the front windshield of the first vehicle. In other embodiments, the augmented reality display is on the rearview mirror of the first vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20170122190
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting operation of an electric motor coupled to a compressor at high altitude engine operation. In one example, the method may include adjusting a ratio of electric compressor assist provided by an electric motor to an intake compressor relative to turbine assist provided via a wastegate during engine idling conditions as well as during transmission gearshifts. The method allows for engine idle speed and torque to be maintained at high altitudes while reducing sluggish boost behavior.
