  • Patent number: 9208573
Abstract: Techniques for determining motion saliency in video content using center-surround receptive fields. In some implementations, images or frames from a video may be apportioned into non-overlapped regions, for example, by applying a rectilinear grid. For each grid region, or cell, motion consistency may be measured between the center and surround area of that cell across frames of the video. Consistent motion across the center-surround area may indicate that the corresponding region has low variation. The larger the difference between center-surround motions in a cell, the more likely the region has high motion saliency.

  • Patent number: 9192489
Abstract: A method for producing a medical device with a lattice structure, connected at least in some areas to a cover. The lattice structure is arranged on a substrate via the side to be connected to the cover, the lattice structure has the side arranged on the substrate pressed at least partially into the substrate, the lattice structure is coated with a first layer of a sacrificial material. At least some of the interstices of the lattice structure are covered by the first layer, and the first layer with the lattice structure on the side to be connected to the cover forms a substantially closed surface, the substrate is removed, making the side of the lattice structure accessible for connection to the cover. A second layer for forming the cover is applied to the side of the lattice structure previously pressed into the substrate, and the sacrificial material is removed.

  • Patent number: 8758636
Abstract: A method for producing a medical functional element having a self-supporting lattice structure which has interconnected webs. The method applies a first layer to the substrate layer, the first layer is structured by an etching process, the structured first layer is under-cut of a wet chemical etching process acting on the substrate layer, the substrate layer is removed in order to form the self-supporting lattice structure, a web constructional layer is applied to the first layer. The method is distinguished by the forming the first web attachment layer which has a smaller layer thickness than the web constructional layer and is intimately bonded to the web constructional layer in such a way that the web attachment layer, together with the web constructional layer, forms the webs of the self-supporting lattice structure.

  • Patent number: 6772173
Abstract: A system and method are provided for presenting a list of items to a user via a device having a limited display capability. In general, the number of items in the list may be much greater than the device can display at once. A list module is configured to receive a list of items and determine the number of items, or ranges of items, that may be displayed at once. If the list contains too many items to be displayed on one card, the list module divides them into groups nearly equal in size, so that to display any one item requires the same or nearly the same number of cards. Until each range is less than or equal to the number of items that can be displayed simultaneously, the list module presents (e.g., transmits to the device) cards having successively smaller ranges. Eventually a card will have few enough items to be displayed individually, and the user may make a final selection.
