Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing a multilayer component comprising the following steps: providing a mat-like multilayer structure which comprises at least two outer layers and a core layer, the core layer being arranged between the two outer layers, the core layer comprising a fibre tangle, which contains a binder material and a reinforcing fibre material, a melting point of the binder material being lower than a melting point of the reinforcing fibre material, placing the multilayer structure in a press, heating the multilayer structure in the press with exposure to pressure, such that the binder material melts, while the reinforcing fibre material retains its fibre structure, resulting in formation of a semi-finished product, lofting the semi-finished product, processing the semi-finished product to yield the multilayer component and cooling the component.
