Patent number: 9197979Abstract: Methods and systems of reproducing object-based audio are disclosed. In some embodiments, vector base amplitude panning (VBAP) is used for playing back an object's audio. Using the positioning of sound reproduction devices and object's location information, rendering can determine which sound reproduction devices are used for playing back the object's audio. For example, a triangle in which the object is positioned at a given time can be identified. The triangle can have sound reproduction devices as vertices, and the object's audio can be rendered on the sound reproduction devices corresponding to the vertices of the triangle. In some embodiments, ambiguities associated with VBAP-based rendering are identified and resolved.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2013Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: DTS LLCInventors: Pierre-Anthony Stivell Lemieux, Roger Wallace Dressler, Jean-Marc Jot

Patent number: 9053080Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture provide access to architectural documents in a network based on-line web based system. Servers that are accessible from the Internet maintain persistent multiple architectural documents of different media types. An online user is provided, from the servers via the Internet, a set of basic virtual design tools that have persistent properties and may be copied. The virtual design tools may also be utilized to work with the architectural documents. A workspace is also provided for viewing, accessing, and modifying the architectural documents.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2013Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: Autodesk, Inc.Inventors: Douglas G. Publication number: 20150002642Abstract: A multi-view display on a pillar in a vehicle can simultaneously project several different image perspectives across a defined area, with each perspective becoming visible as a driver shifts his or her position. The different perspectives may be created using a multi-view lens. As the driver moves fore and aft or side to side, the driver's viewing angle relative to the lens changes, enabling the appropriate image to be seen. This arrangement can eliminate or reduce any need for active head or eye tracking and can assure or attempt to ensure the appropriate exterior image is available independent of the driver's viewing angle relative to the display.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2014Publication date: January 1, 2015Inventor: Roger Wallace Dressler

Patent number: 7551745Abstract: A single control determines both volume and the degree of compression in the reproduction of motion picture soundtracks. For some settings of the control, compression or limiting reduces the highest levels on a movie soundtrack, leaving the dialogue level substantially unchanged, thus removing the reason for complaints from the audience without the danger of making the dialogue too quiet for intelligibility.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2003Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: Kenneth James Gundry, John Iles, Roger Wallace Dressler

Publication number: 20070039219Abstract: A garden marker device is disclosed that includes, in one embodiment, a frame, a seed packet, and a packet cover. The frame includes a receiving member and a supporting member. The seed packet has a first end, a second end, and a pair of sides. The seed packet is configured to fit onto the receiving member. Additionally, the seed packet may contain seeds. The packet cover has a top end and a pair of flaps. The pair of flaps defines an opening sized to receive the seed packet and the receiving member. In one embodiment, the packet cover covers both the seed packet and the receiving member.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Roger Wallace
