  • Publication number: 20140269704
Abstract: In a wireless multihop network having node devices within communication range neighboring node devices in a corresponding local neighborhood, the node devices initiate repeated message broadcasts of a first message as a connection-less broadcast into the local neighborhood. Initiation of message broadcasts is governed such that the message broadcasts are permitted only at specified transmission times within a plurality of transmission time windows. Each of the node devices determines whether any of the connection-less-broadcasted messages are duplicates of the first message, and generate a count of those duplicates received during each of the transmission windows. Based on counts of the duplicates, initiation of a message broadcast of the first message in a current transmission window is suppressed in response to a corresponding count of duplicates of the first message received during the first transmission window exceeding a suppression limit.

  • Publication number: 20140269278
Abstract: In a wireless multihop network having node devices within communication range neighboring node devices in a corresponding local neighborhood, the node devices generate visibility messages to be transmitted via connection-less broadcast. The visibility messages include at least an identifier of the corresponding node device. Visibility messages received by each of the node devices from the one or more neighboring node devices are processed to determine a measure of density of the local neighborhood. This measure of density also accounts for the heterogeneous transmit power capabilities of node devices and is used for updating of one or more operational parameter of the node device relating to utilization of the radio communications medium by that node device. A degree of utilization of the medium through the control of transmission data rate and power is adjusted based on an inverse relation to the measure of density determined from the received visibility messages.

  • Publication number: 20140150314
Abstract: An open record album frame for displaying and storing album covers or a phonograph record. The frame comprises parallel upper and lower holding means secured to the base member. Each of the upper and lower holding means is elongated in the form of a crossbar with a groove extends the full length on the inner side thereof. The frame also has a bore disposed on the center of the base member to receive a mounting post that holds a phonograph record on the frame. The frame allows for convenient insertion and removal of album covers by simply inserting the album into the upper holding means. A ledge is constructed in the lower holding means to support the album. To display a phonograph record, a detachable mounting post can be secured into the bore of the base member.

  • Publication number: 20100038410
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for securing a first metallic target object to a further metallic target object. The apparatus includes a heating element for heating a bonding interface region between juxtaposed portions of a first and further metallic target object, at least one chamber body portion securable around the interface region to form a chamber region surrounding the interface region, a pump member for at least partially removing oxygen from the chamber region and a target object locating unit arranged to locate portions of the first and further target objects in a juxtaposed position.

  • Publication number: 20080287139
Abstract: A system and method for estimating the location of a mobile station that receives signals from a plurality of base stations. An estimated location of a mobile station may be determined through any number of or combination of location technologies. Network measurements such as observed time difference values and/or a round trip time values at the mobile station or base stations in the network may be utilized. Network timing relationships may be determined as a function of the estimated location and network measurements. An estimated location of a second mobile station may be determined as a function of the network timing relationships.

  • Publication number: 20070117573
Abstract: A method for generating geocoded data for a wireless communication system works over a plurality of network architectures and location processes. The method identifies the presence of mobile activity in the wireless communication network and in response collects wireless communication measurement data associated with the mobile activity. Geolocation is performed on the mobile associated with the activity and the geolocation and measurement data are combined forming geocoded data. The geocoded data is then supplied to a processing system to support implementation of optimization of the wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20020132209
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for storing and providing access to content components representing solutions to published text-book problems. Tutorials are composed of solution, which in turn are composed of problem descriptions, solutions, hints, steps, queries, Socratic queries, formulas and figures, and guesses. These solutions can be stored in a relational database, or in files using the HM(SL format.
