Publication number: 20240129080Abstract: Packets may be transformed cryptographically or compressively in order to secure network communications and to preserve network bandwidth. The transformations may be applied at more than one protocol layer which can result in unnecessary operations such encrypting or compressing data that is already encrypted. This wastes processing resources. A solution is to selectively apply transformations. A network appliance can receive an initial layer packet for transmission to a network destination. The initial layer header of the initial layer packet can be used to determine an initial state indicator that indicates an initial state (e.g., encrypted, compressed, etc.) of an initial layer payload of the initial layer packet. The initial layer packet can be encapsulated in a subsequent layer packet as a subsequent layer payload. Selectively applying a transform to the subsequent layer payload based on the initial state indicator can avoid the unnecessary operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2022Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Mario Baldi, Roger Andersson

Patent number: 6535254Abstract: A method of reducing noise in a video signal which includes a plurality of video frames being composed of a plurality of pixels, the method comprising the steps of: comparing video information contained in a current video frame and a plurality of temporally adjacent video frames; selecting from the current video frame and the adjacent video frames the video information that according to a predetermined condition is likely to be correct for the current video frame; and finally assigning the selected video information to the current video frame to thereby produce a video frame wherein noise has been reduced.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1998Date of Patent: March 18, 2003Assignee: Pinnacle Systems Inc.Inventors: Kent Olsson, Ting Ting Zhang, Youshi Xu, Roger Andersson

Publication number: 20020041628Abstract: A method and apparatus for splicing programs in the MPEG domain, wherein program data is carried in MPEG transport streams (TS) of data packets. The data packets carry application data, e.g. video and audio data, and a header provided with control data. According to the invention control data objects are established for each data packet for storing time references and data packet status information. The control data objects are queued in different queues dependent on the data packet status or on the status of a group of data packets. Control data objects associated to data packets to be output in an output stream of data packets are selected from the queues, whereupon selected control objects are assembled to a program of associated data packets of different kinds of data. Finally, data packets associated to said selected and assembled control data objects are assembled to an output stream of data packets.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2000Publication date: April 11, 2002Inventors: Roger Andersson, Lars Farm

Patent number: 5595551Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method for ensuring that at the time of disengagement of a gear in connection with changing gear in mechanical gearboxes without clutch disengagement the engine torque is adjusted to a zero-torque level which is continuously corrected on the basis of the instantaneous acceleration of the engine but also on the basis of the internal friction of the engine and on the basis of any power take-offs being powered by the engine. In gear changing, adjustment begins with a torque reduction at time t.sub.1. The torque is reduced to a zero-torque level M.sub.0 which is continuously variable during the reduction and which is adapted to the current engine deceleration and which is corrected by a friction factor M.sub.f and an acceleration factor M.sub.a. The friction factor M.sub.f is derived from a matrix M.sub.f (n,T) on the basis of current engine speed n and engine temperature T, and the acceleration factor M.sub.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1995Date of Patent: January 21, 1997Assignee: Scania CV AktiebolagInventors: Lars-Gunnar Hedstrom, Roger Andersson, Goran Soderman, Torbjorn Gustavsson

Patent number: 5568387Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method and an arrangement for implementation of that method for obtaining safer and quicker upshifts while maintaining gear change comfort, using computer-assisted systems for gear change in mechanical gearboxes in motor vehicles, preferably without clutch disengagement between engine and gearbox. In connection with upshift, an exhaust brake is activated, (EB.sub.on) at time t.sub.1 in parallel with the fuel (FUEL) to the engine being reduced to zero quantity. The engine speed n.sub.2 is thereby reduced more quickly to the speed n.sub.1 which is the synchronous engine speed for the next higher gear. The speed reduction is monitored with a view to achieving rapid engine speed bracketing to synchronous speed, and also good gear change smoothness and safe gear engagement. The exhaust brake switch-off point EB.sub.off at time t.sub.2 is adjusted adaptively for subsequent upshift by a connection factor EBA.sub.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1994Date of Patent: October 22, 1996Assignee: Scania CV AktiebolagInventor: Roger Andersson

Patent number: 4317324Abstract: The invention relates to a system for motor-driven ride-on lawn mowers of the type where the cutting assembly is placed in front of the front axle, in which the front wheels are adapted as driving and braking wheels and the rear wheels as steering wheels. The new feature is that the brake mechanism acting upon the front wheels is provided with a modulation apparatus which, independently of the power exerted by the driver on the brake pedal or the like, prevents the braking power acting upon the wheels from reaching the amount where the wheels would be locked.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1980Date of Patent: March 2, 1982Assignee: Stiga ABInventors: Gunnar Malmberg, Roger Andersson, Kjell Pettersson
