  • Patent number: 9403623
Abstract: An adjustable reusable modular packaging crate and assembly kit is purposed for safe transportation of preferably mostly two-dimensional items. Several latching corner subassemblies each hold two perpendicular frame extensions that may be locked into adjustable lengths to make crate frame sides. Sets of adjustable clamps interact with the item to be shipped and the crate frame, to assist in securing the item to be shipped. Extendable frame components allow for a frame that adjusts precisely to the size of the item to be shipped. Frame locks securely fix the dimensions of the packaging crate. Gusset subassemblies and cross-corner struts add rigidity to the crate. Corner, frame, strut, and gusset components interlock to create a rigid packaging crate. Frame links enable crate frame sides to be connected side-by-side, adding to the depth of the crate frame. The modular crate may be easily disassembled for low-space storage between uses, and easily reassembled for reuse.

  • Patent number: 7621304
Abstract: A non-spilling, detachable pouring spout is configured to transfer liquid from a non-vented filling container to a receiving container. The spout has a spout body defining a first hollow passageway extending from an open first end to an open second end, wherein this open passageway having a generally tubular hollow inner conduit positioned within the first hollow passageway and defining a second hollow passageway. An intermediate sleeve is received in the spout and seals against portions of the spout body and the inner conduit so as to variously control the flow of materials out of the spout body, preferably the flow of liquid out of the spout and air into the spout as a venting system. The movement of said sleeve may be controlled by movement of an external sheath and may include child-resistant features. The preferred spout may achieve smooth air venting and liquid flow, and minimizes transverse/sideways flow and openings that tend to cause splash and leaks.

Abstract: A non-spilling detachable pouring spout configured to transfer liquid from a non-vented filling container to a receiving container. This spout having a spout body defining an open passageway extending from an open first end to an open second end this open passageway having a generally tubular shaped hollow inner conduit positioned within the first hollow passageway, and defining a second hollow passageway. An intermediate sleeve is configured for attachment to the device and is further configured to seal against portions of the spout body and the inner conduit so as to variously control the flow of materials out of the spout body. The movement of said sleeve is controlled by movement of a child resistant sheath.

  • Patent number: 6032408
Abstract: A tree trunk restraint collar for supporting young or transplanted trees or restraining established trees to a desired position. The preferred round collar is flexible and split at one place so that it may be twisted apart to be installed around the trunk. Thus placed, it is allowed to reform to its natural, circular shape. Some form of cord or wire is then looped through collar eyelets and around the outside middle of the collar, to secure the collar within its closed and circular condition at the one end of the cord and to secure the collar to support posts at the other end. The ring fits loosely around the trunk to allow growth and flow of natural fluids within the trunk. At the same time the ring guides and restrains the tree when forces such as wind, gravity, or the attraction of sunlight are exerted upon it. The device is economical to make and install and is effective in its function.

  • Patent number: 6019198
Abstract: A mechanically driven ratchet assembly which has a pawl gear attached to a rotationally biased shaft, a pawl assembly having a pawl tooth for engagement with a pawl gear, and a ratchet gear which alternately permits movement when driven by the pawl gear of the pawl assembly from a first position to a third position in which full rotation of the shaft, in the direction of the rotational bias, was permitted, and sequentially and alternatively permits rotation of the pawl assembly either from the first position to a second position where the pawl tooth remains engaged with the teeth of the pawl gear or to a third position where the pawl tooth is no longer engaged with the pawl gear.
