Publication number: 20240135004Abstract: A system determines a baseline cyberthreat-risk score for a user, and displays the baseline cyberthreat-risk score via a user interface. The system presents at least one cyberthreat-education activity via the user interface, and receives, via the user interface, at least one user input associated with the presented at least one cyberthreat-education activity. The system generates an updated cyberthreat-risk score at least in part by updating the baseline cyberthreat-risk score based at least in part on the user input, and displays the updated cyberthreat-risk score via the user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2024Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Chad E. Adams, Daniel Robert Caricato, Kahlidah B. Covington, Ashley Brook Godfrey, Christopher Wayne Howser, Nicola A. Maiorana, Nirali J. Patel, Richard Joseph Schroeder, Roger Daryll White

Patent number: 11964692Abstract: A vehicle hitching assistance system includes a controller executing an initial alignment process including searching for a trailer within a specified area of image data that is less than a total field of the image data in directions corresponding with both a longitudinal distance between the vehicle and the trailer and a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal distance, presenting an indication to a driver of the vehicle to reposition the vehicle when the trailer is not identified within the specified area, and removing the indication when the trailer is identified within the specified area. The controller further executes an automated backing process upon identifying the trailer within the specified area, including identifying a coupler of the trailer and outputting a steering signal to the vehicle to cause the vehicle to steer to align a hitch ball of the vehicle with the coupler of the trailer during reversing.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Luke Niewiadomski, Douglas Rogan, Shannon Brooks-Lehnert, Chen Zhang, Roger Arnold Trombley, Peter Ling, Kenneth Michael Mayer, Seyed Armin Raeis Hosseiny, Bo Bao, Steven Wayne Friedlander

Patent number: 11940867Abstract: Event management system and method. Events comprise physical and logical attributes. Tuples are created to identify a set of logical attributes. The tuples are arranged in hierarchized relations by creating binarized co-occurrence matrices, each co-occurrence matrix reflecting different time intervals and indicate occurrence of tuples in time windows of the time intervals. Tuple pairs are analyzed to determine probabilistic score related to co-occurrence, and tuple families are created from tuple pairs based on the probabilistic score. From tuple families, events are used to extract tuple instances including physical attributes, which are arranged as tuple-instance families using the corresponding tuple families as reference.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2023Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: GUAVUS Inc.Inventors: Prasad Vyavahare, Swati Choksi, Silvia Veronese, Roger Brooks, Zainab Jamal

Publication number: 20100280989Abstract: A computer-implemented method and computer readable media for creating an ontology for a domain by reference to a knowledge corpus comprising linked documents and a category hierarchy wherein each document can be contained in one or more categories and wherein categories can contain one or more other categories. In some embodiments, the method comprises: searching the corpus to identify documents with text that matches a seed domain description; identifying further documents within the corpus that are semantically similar to the identified documents; identifying a subgraph of the category hierarchy that includes the categories assigned to the extracted documents and the further documents; reducing the subgraph to form the ontology by requiring that documents therein be indicative of a second domain description, the second domain description being at least as broad as the seed domain description.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2009Publication date: November 4, 2010Inventors: Pankaj Mehra, Roger Brooks, Christopher Thomas

Publication number: 20060035716Abstract: Apparatus for use by a golfer with a putter, and the method of its use, includes a member, removably and firmly attachable at/near its lower end to the shaft of the putter, and extending upwardly from the point of attachment and having an upper end, and the upper end of the member being adapted to contact an appropriate part of the anatomy of the golfer. When a golfer executes a correct putting stroke, the upper end of the member remains in contact with that part of the golfer's anatomy throughout the whole of the swing but, if the stroke is not correct, the upper end of the member either loses contact, or moves across, or presses harder into the anatomy of the golfer. A contact device in the form of a resilient ball or the like is fixed to the or each upper end. These are capable of giving an audible or visual warning of loss of contact with the golfer's body or of increased contact pressure with the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2003Publication date: February 16, 2006Inventor: Roger Brooks

Patent number: 4791412Abstract: A surveillance system based upon generation and detection of phase shifted harmonic signals from markers on articles or persons, responsive to transmission of a reference signal at a fundamental frequency in a detection zone, may be adversely affected by the presence in the detection zone of large metal objects, such as shopping carts. Such objects can alter the phase of the harmonic signals from predetermined values. An alternate signal processing technique for such a surveillance system recognizes that immunity to such disturbances can be achieved by measuring the phase between two or more of the harmonic signals returned from the marker, because the effect of such large metal objects has been found to have the same effect on all of the harmonic signals. Correspondence to a predetermined phase difference is a reliable indicator of marker detection.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1988Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Assignee: Controlled Information CorporationInventor: Roger Brooks
