  • Patent number: 9321924
Abstract: A magnetizable ink contains at least 65% of magnetizable particles having a modal diameter between 3 ?m and 10 ?m. The particles may have a size distribution with 0% above 18 micron and not greater than 20% under 0.5 micron. The particles may have a surface area less than 50,000 cm2 per cm3, and/or the ink may have a viscosity less than 16,000 cps when ready to print. Where the particles are rounded, magnetically soft iron particles, the surface area may be less than 12,000 cm2 per cm3 and the viscosity may be less than 1,500 cps.

  • Publication number: 20090039637
Abstract: A waterproof book is disclosed. The book has a plurality of synthetic paper pages. The synthetic paper pages are substantially waterproof and tear-resistant. The book includes a pressure binding configured to bind the pages into book form while preserving structural integrity of the pages, and without piercing the pages.

  • Publication number: 20090026749
Abstract: A book having a movable mechanical device having a plurality of positions. A light sensor is positioned in optical communication with at least one position of the mechanical device, such that a movement of the mechanical device is able to change a light level reaching the light sensor. An event generator is electronically coupled to the light sensor. The event generator is able to receive from the light sensor a signal corresponding to the changed light level, and generate an event responsive to the signal.

  • Patent number: 7414010
Abstract: The invention encompasses a fabric book with high resolution sublimation printed images and a method of making such a fabric book. The fabric book of the invention has a plurality of fabric pages. The fabric pages are made of a synthetic material with an original softness corresponding to the synthetic material. At least one fabric page has a high resolution sublimation printed image imprinted using the method of the invention. The fabric page with the high resolution image substantially retains the original softness, even after printing. The preferred method of creating the high resolution images in the fabric books begins with selecting an appropriate original object. A digital rendition of the original object is created. The digital rendition is edited to create an edited image with optimum print resolution. A color separation is performed on the edited image to create a color separated image. Optimal sublimation inks are prepared and suitable sublimation paper is selected.

  • Publication number: 20050037277
Abstract: Compounds of formula (I): {where n is a number from 1 to 6; R3 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; A represents a group of formula —[O(CHR2CHR1)a]y—, —[O(CH2)bCO]y—, or —[O(CH2)bCO](y?1)—[O(CHR2CHR1)a]— (where one of R1 and R2 is hydrogen and the other is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl); a is from 1 to 2; b is from 4 to 5; y is from 3 to 10; Q is a residue of a polyhydroxy compound having 2 to 6 hydroxy groups; and x is greater than 1 but no greater than the number of available hydroxyl groups in Q} and esters thereof are useful as photoinitiators for the preparation of energy-curable compositions, such as varnishes and printing inks.

  • Patent number: 4923087
Abstract: A combination trash container and disposal unit comprising a trash container and a trash bag held in said trash container in such a manner that the trash bag covers the upper opening of the trash container with the trash container so constructed that it may be nested and provide a space between the bases of adjacent trash containers so that hooks which may be placed on the sides of the trash container to hold the handles associated with the trash bags may be stored therein.
