Patents by Inventor Roger C. Sharlow

Roger C. Sharlow has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 5188294
Abstract: This invention includes a process and apparatus for dispensing/applying a material to lawns and gardens. The apparatus includes a child and pet proof container for holding the material being dispensed/applied. At the upper portion of the container in a water flow path is a water fill conduit, liquid volume control, back flow prevention device, and a Venturi. The Venturi draws the contents of the container through a hose having an end located at the containers lower end where there is a filter located at such hose end. This allows hazardous material to be administered to a lawn or other flora without human or animal exposure to hazardous material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 1991
Date of Patent: February 23, 1993
Inventors: J. Michael Sealy, Roger C. Sharlow

  • Patent number: 4293100
Abstract: An apparatus for ganging and cutting a plurality of layers of strip material in predetermined lengths includes a frame supporting a drive and driven roller acting together to draw the layers of material to a cutter where the layers of material are severed. The drive roller, acting with the driven roller, draws a plurality of layers of material from a rack structure where each layer is individually wound on a rotatable roll. Each layer of strip material is drawn from a roll and a plurality of layers are ganged over a cylindrical roller. The ganged layers of material are directed over a convex-concave roller combination to maintain alignment. The layers of material are then drawn over an upper support roller and are guided to the drive roller through a guide plate structure. The guide plate structure includes a back plate having a slot therein and a top plate having a longitudinal shoulder corresponding to the slot.

  • Patent number: 4270707
Abstract: A system for driving a plurality of typewriter ribbon cores (80) having irregular apertures therethrough (150) includes a shaft (70) supported for rotation and a plurality of spacers (74) keyed to the shaft for rotation therewith. A plurality of adapters (72) are separated by the spacers and have a bore (170) therethrough for mating engagement on the shaft. The outer surface of the adapter corresponds to the irregular aperture through the ribbon core for receiving the core thereon. An inwardly directing force is applied on the outermost spacer such that the adapters and cores mounted thereon are engaged between adjacent spacers. This engagement force between the spacers and adapters imparts a constant rotational torque to the adapters and cores as the shaft spacers are rotated. Typewriter ribbon (R) is attached to each of the cores and is wound onto the core as the core is rotated with the shaft.
