  • Patent number: 6379257
Abstract: A bowling ball thrower includes a frame positionable adjacent to a bowling lane, a throwing arm pivotably attached to the frame, the throwing arm having a rest position and a pivoted position and including a ball-gripping mechanism for gripping a bowling ball, and a cocking arm pivotably attached to the frame, the cocking arm being selectively couplable to the throwing arm such that the cocking arm is pivotable with the throwing arm. A method for throwing a bowling ball includes holding the bowling ball with a ball thrower having a throwing arm and a cocking arm, and coupling the throwing arm to the cocking arm. The method also includes pivoting the throwing arm to a pivoted position to achieve a velocity, uncoupling the throwing arm from the cocking arm, and releasing the bowling ball such that the bowling ball moves at the velocity.

  • Patent number: 4710738
Abstract: A moulded case circuit breaker has a toggle-joint mechanism, articulated on a hook and on a moving contact support. The toggle joint includes a swivel pin movably engaged in an aperture of the hook. When tripping takes place, the released hook pushes the toggle-joint, via the swivel pin and aperture, into a broken position to accelerate opening of the contacts. In the closed position, the toggle-joint is practically perpendicular to the hook.

  • Patent number: 4467297
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-pole circuit breaker with an interchangeable magneto-thermal tripping unit electrically and mechanically connected to the breaker unit by means of connecting screws. The connecting lugs of the breaker unit are positioned with vertical play in transverse slots in the breaker unit casing and are electrically connected to the movable contacts by flexible connections. When the connecting screws are tightened the breaker unit connecting lugs are shifted to bear on the associated tripping unit lugs irrespective of any positioning defects. A reset spring of the electro-magnetic tripping device is anchored on one end on the armature and on the other end to the tripping device adjusting bar.

  • Patent number: 4401872
Abstract: A multi-pole circuit breaker having a molded case and a contact operating mechanism supported in said case. The mechanism is controlled by a handle and a trip device. To obtain the reset of the trip hook when said trip device has opened the contacts, a rocker secured to the handle engages a drive lever forming an extension of the upper link of a toggle joint of said mechanism. The catch of the trip device is biased into an intermediate balanced locking position by means of a spring and is positioned onto a pivot pin by means of radial projection insides the bore of the catch which fits into a matching groove of the pin.
