  • Patent number: 11965489
Abstract: The present invention provides a coupling device for coupling a rotary actuator to a mechanical device having a rotatable shaft. The coupling device comprises a spring return module with a first rotatable coupling configured to engage a first portion of the shaft, and a spring engaged with the first rotatable coupling, wherein the first rotatable coupling is rotatable about a rotation axis, and wherein rotation of the rotatable coupling about the rotation axis in a first direction causes mechanical energy to be stored in the spring. The coupling device further comprises an actuator coupling module comprising a second rotatable coupling. The second rotatable coupling is configured to engage a second portion of the shaft, the second rotatable coupling being further engageable with an output of the rotary actuator. The second rotatable coupling is rotatable about the rotation axis, the second rotatable coupling being rotatable relative to the first rotatable coupling about the rotation axis.

  • Publication number: 20200178879
Abstract: The present disclosure discusses a mechanically stabilized sensor. The sensor is configured for intra-vaginal placement and can be used during labor and diagnostic procedures not associated with labor. The sensor can detect bioelectrical signals generated by the uterus and fetal heart. The mechanical stabilization of the sensor to the vaginal mucosa can reduce noise in the bioelectrical signals detected with the sensor. The sensor's stability enables long-term, intra-vaginal recordings to be made.

  • Publication number: 20190380642
Abstract: The present solution discusses a system configured to evaluate the progress of labor induction by monitoring the uterine response to induction drugs or mechanical induction methods and assess the physiological status of the uterus. The uterine response to drugs can vary over the course of labor, but by categorizing the uterine response in real time the system can control an infusion system to deliver patient specific amounts of drugs to the patient that improves patient outcome while providing cost savings.
