  • Patent number: 4236747
Abstract: A transport vehicle providing a lightweight and flexible design for a medium-sized route delivery truck. The vehicle is constructed on a conventional truck chassis, and includes a plurality of cargo bays extending transversely across its width, with each cargo bay being dividable into left and right lateral half portions via a removable central panel. In at least one bay the floor in each lateral half is positionable either horizontally or slightly inclined towards the center of the truck, with the proper position being dependent upon the type of merchandise being transported in the cargo bay. The truck frame includes a pair of I beams extending longitudinally from front to rear thereof along the truck roof on top of all of the cargo bays. The pair of I beams extend in a cantilever fashion over the most rearward cargo bay, and provide the load-carrying capacity for that rearward bay by suspending the weight thereof from the pair of I beams.

  • Patent number: 4216635
Abstract: A hollow panel structure applicable as a wall partition, divider member and the like, constituted of a plurality of channel-shaped elements arranged in two parallel spaced rows having their flanges facing each other. The rows of elements are interconnected into a rigid, box-like structure through the intermediary of transverse spacer elements extending between the adjacent flanges of adjoining channel-shaped elements. The method of construction for the panel structure employs spot welds for interconnecting the channel-shaped elements and the spacer elements to facilitate ready removal and replacement of individual channel-shaped elements.

  • Patent number: 4099764
Abstract: A locking device for one or more overhead doors including a system of operatively interconnected levers adapted to be manually manipulated for imparting a closing force to the doors. The levers include a biasing member which will impart a locking force to the closed doors so as to maintain these in a fully closed and locked condition. The locking device is adapted to effect the simultaneous locking of a plurality of doors in a compartmented transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4095704
Abstract: A vehicular delivery ramp apparatus includes a cargo restraint device which is elevatable above the surface thereof into a position to prevent rolling or sliding motion of cargo deposited thereon. The cargo restraint device is a gate or planar bar vertically displaceable within a transverse slit formed in the deck portion of the ramp. The restraint device is controllably interengaged in operative relationship with an elevation structure for the ramp in order to provide fail-safe operation insuring that the restraint device is exposed to afford limitation or restraint of cargo movement.
