Publication number: 20020104451Abstract: A printing press including a frame and a central impression drum rotatably supported on the frame. A plurality of first side printing stations is circumferentially spaced about the central impression drum and in communication therewith. Each of the plurality of printing first side printing stations is adapted to print an image on a first side of a substrate. A perfecting printing station is disposed at a position about the central impression drum. The perfecting printing station includes a multi-purpose drum having a substrate retainer for securing the substrate thereto. The multi-purpose drum forms an impression cylinder and is in communication with an image transfer cylinder for imparting an image on a second side of the substrate. An ink fixing unit is disposed between the first side printing stations and the perfecting station. The ink fixing unit fixes the image on the first side of the substrate prior to the image being imparted on the second side of the substrate by the perfecting station.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2002Publication date: August 8, 2002Applicant: Halm Industries Co., Inc.Inventors: Donald F. Patent number: 5897755Abstract: A cathodic protection test station device has a terminal board integrally formed with a base plate. A removable housing locks onto the base plate and covers the terminal board and the base plate. A tab formed in the base plate extends into a recess formed in the housing defining a locking position. A tool may be inserted in an access slot formed in the housing to deflect the tab and remove the housing. A plurality of first wedge members are symmetrically disposed on a bottom surface of the base plate. The first wedge members have an inclined surface that slidably engages an inclined surface of a plurality of second wedge members. A bolt extends through the base plate and the first and second wedge members to a nut held in a non-rotating manner in the second wedge member. As the bolt rotates, the nut moves towards a head of the bolt and urges the first and second wedge members axially together.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1997Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Carsonite International CorporationInventors: Roger D. Patent number: 5251652Abstract: A vehicle having a collecting and hauling system for collecting and hauling refuse in a containment vessel to a predetermined location. In the illustrated embodiment, a street sweeper having a street sweeping system utilizes a vertically extendable mast for elevating its hopper for dumping purposes. Additionally, air springs are provided to the wheel suspension system so that the air springs, when inflated, elevate the chassis and street sweeping system for road travel. When deflated, the chassis is lowered into solid support on the suspension system to provide a more rigid suspension for improved street sweeping and hopper dumping operation. Also, the street sweeper has a conveyor for conveying the dirt from dirt collection means upwardly into the hopper.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1991Date of Patent: October 12, 1993Assignee: Elgin Sweeper CompanyInventors: Daniel P. Strauser, Roger D. Star

When deflated, the chassis is lowered into solid support on the suspension system to provide a more rigid suspension for improved street sweeping and hopper dumping operation. Also, the street sweeper has a conveyor for conveying the dirt from dirt collection means upwardly into the hopper. A second air spring having resilient chamber walls is provided to support the conveyor means in movable relation so that it may be rotated upwardly in travelling position by inflation of the air spring and lowered into operating position by deflation thereof. The conveyor is preferably suspended from the chassis by pivotally hanging links to permit the conveyor to move between raised and lowered positions.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1988Date of Patent: October 29, 1991Assignee: Elgin Sweeper CompanyInventors: Daniel P. Patent number: 4951347Abstract: Apparatus for cleaning surfaces includes a cleaning head defining an open-faced chamber for facing the surface to be cleaned and means for blowing air into the chamber. A rotary brush is positioned in the chamber for engaging and brushing the surface to be cleaned, and, preferably, the flowing air is directed in a stream that directly impinges the surface to be cleaned adjacent the brush. It is also preferred for the brush to be carried on an arm movable between a first position for engaging the surface to be cleaned and a second position where the brush is spaced from the surface to be cleaned. A control system is provided for power means for moving the brush and arm between the first and second positions, to cause the brush and arm to assume the first position when the motor is on to operate the brush, and to cause the brush and arm to assume the second position when the motor is off.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1990Date of Patent: August 28, 1990Assignee: Elgin Sweeper Co.Inventors: Roger D.
