Abstract: The invention concerns a fastening tool employing a caseless munition. The tool includes a cavity for the munition, or explosive chamber, constituting a high-pressure chamber communicating with a low-pressure expansion chamber through at least one passage. The cavity for the munition, or explosive chamber, is formed radially in the very body of the breech, access thereto for loading being located on the periphery of said breech. It is possible to close said access after loading with a closing member, and the passage or passages putting the munition cavity in communication with the low-pressure chamber are formed in said breech.

Abstract: An expansible nail-like plug comprising a body whereof one part is separated into at least two portions by at least one substantially radial slot and an expansion core which moves apart the said portions on being driven into the said body. According to the invention, the said slot is interrupted prior to the front end of the said body, whereby the front unslotted end terminates in a point having, for example, a substantially conical or prismatic shape.

Abstract: The recess for the ammunition comprises two blind bores whose width is equal to, or greater than, the thickness of the ammunition and whose depth is similar to, or greater than, the diameter of the ammunition, whereby the said blind bores are connected by a groove issuing over a part of the height thereof which is at least equal to the diameter of the ammunition, while the duct or ducts issue into the bottom of at least one of the blind bores.

Abstract: A system for introducing caseless propellant pellets into a firing chamber of an apparatus deriving power from such pellets. The system includes a guide for holding a supply of pellets in a refillable container, and a pusher acting on the pellets to selectively deliver one thereof to the firing chamber.

Abstract: An expandable plug or anchor having a diametrical hole in either the socket member or male member or both. The location of the hole or holes is such that unless the proper amount of relative movement between the socket member and male member necessary to properly expand the plug is effected, the hole or holes are blocked and a wire cannot be passed through the hole and be attached to the plug.

Abstract: A powder-actuated fastening gun including a housing in which a barrel assembly is mounted for movement between a locked position and an unlocked forward position. A percussion assembly is mounted in said housing for movement between a firing position and a fired position. A rod member, external of the barrel assembly, is moveable between a forward position and a rearward position. The rod member is releasably connected to the percussion assembly. A projection on the barrel assembly is adapted to engage the forward end of the rod member and move it from its forward to its rearward position as the barrel assembly is moved from its unlocked to its locked position. Actuating means are provided for disconnecting the percussion assembly and the rod member only when the rod member is in its rearward position. A second rod member may be provided which includes a safety catch to prevent disconnection of the percussion assembly and the rod member if the second rod member has not been moved rearwardly.
