  • Publication number: 20060032624
Abstract: A self-contained, fully-integrated, energy efficient heating and cooling system or apparatus for conditioning the air on the interior of a building which includes a means for creating airflow through the apparatus, a section for cooling the airflow, a section for heating the airflow, a means for directing the airflow into the cooling section or into the heating section, a reheat device for tempering (i.e., reheating) the airflow exiting the cooling section, a return air section for receiving air returned to the apparatus from the building interior, and a means for pulling the returned air out of the return air section and venting the returned air to the environment outside of the building. The heating section of the present invention also provides a “four-pass” heat exchanger which may be assembled from sections of cast iron or other suitable materials, and a high efficiency combustion burner which may be integrated into the four-pass heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 6751494
Abstract: The three-dimensional structure of the surface of a cavity is reconstructed. The cavity can be the outer ear canal of a person. A probe with an optical sensor is introduced into the cavity to produce video signals, which are transmitted to a computer device. The computer device transforms the video signals into position data representing the surface of the cavity, thereby defining the three-dimensional structure of the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5349703
Abstract: A toilet lid apparatus for flushing the toilet by closing the toilet lid is provided. The apparatus includes a hinge that provides a pair of standoffs adapted for attachment to the toilet for supporting a horizontal hinge bar. The toilet lid is adapted for pivotal mounting to the hinge bar and rotates between a horizontal position for covering the toilet and a near vertical position for uncovering the toilet. The lid further includes a toothed sprocket adapted for engagement with a first sleeve that is rotatably mounted on the hinge bar and has teeth arranged annularly at one end for engaging the toothed sprocket. Rotation of the lid, and hence the toothed sprocket, drives the first sleeve in rotation therewith in one rotational direction, but not in the alternate rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 3962779
Abstract: A method of making an oxide isolated integrated circuit structure is simplified by forming a first level metallization pattern without the conventional underlying insulating layer and without the need for restricting the size of the metallization to the size of the semiconductor regions to be contacted. Portions of the first level metallization pattern can extend on the oxide isolation region to contact two otherwise isolated semiconductor zones. Additionally, subsequent to the formation of the oxide isolation regions and the first level metallization, an intermediate dielectric masking pattern is formed so the combination of the first level metallization, the oxide isolation regions and the masking pattern defines zones for the introduction of impurities. Further, the masking pattern alone is used to provide contact holes for a subsequently formed second level metallization pattern.
