  • Patent number: 5933507
Abstract: A highly portable stereo sound system comprising mixing console-amplifier and speakers. The mixing console-amplifier has spaced-apart front and back sides which have spaced apart upper and lower regions. The first and second speakers are removably mounted respectively on the front and back sides of the console-amplifier, by mating inserts, sockets and latches on the upper and lower regions. The console-amplifier may be a hollow body molded of synthetic resin for containing electronic sound-system elements, and may have control elements for controlling the electronic sound-system elements mounted on the front side. The speakers may also have a hollow body molded of synthetic resin, and may have a side adapted to project sound. The sound-projecting side of the speaker may be shaped and sized to mate with the front or back sides of the console-amplifier.

  • Patent number: 4545278
Abstract: To adjust the characteristic sounds produced by electric guitars and other musical instruments, the present apparatus and method provide for varying the resistive loading on the electromagnetic pickups of such instruments. This changes the shape of the peak of the resonance curve caused by the self-resonance of the electromagnetic pickup. A predetermined fixed resistance is maintained in the circuit at all times, such that when a control element is at a certain known position, the output curve from the pickup will be substantially flat and, furthermore, the apparent volume generated by the instrument will not be reduced substantially. To change volume, a volume-control potentiometer is provided. In the preferred form, a single control element not only adjusts the characteristic sounds produced by electric guitars or other musical instruments having electromagnetic pickups, but also provides roll-off of higher frequencies at some desired region within the audio spectrum.

  • Patent number: 4184726
Abstract: A reversible bracket assembly for use with an electronic apparatus bearing housing or the like includes an elongate plate having opposed sides each suitably fastenable to the side panels of the housing. A mounting flange extends transversely of and integrally from one end of the plate and a handle member extends integrally from the other end of the plate. The plate is fastenable to the housing with one of its sides in abutment with the housing side panels for facilitating portable transportation and use of the housing by means of the handle members and with its other side in abutment with the housing side panels for facilitating mounting of the housing within a standard equipment rack through the agency of the mounting flange.
