  • Publication number: 20230286422
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pressure-sensing car seat device that prevents a user from leaving a child behind in a vehicle unintentionally. The device is comprised of a child car seat with a pressure sensor/switch that detects the presence of a child within the device. A power cord places the device in electrical communication with the vehicle it is within such that when the vehicle turns off, the device loses power. If the device loses power and the pressure sensor/switch is still activated, the device may alert the user via a speaker, a mobile application, or functions of the vehicle that a child is still within the device.

  • Patent number: 7106889
Abstract: An image analysis system for automated reading of printed multi-character codes, for example on antibiotic susceptibility testing disks, makes use of an orientation means, for example an underline printed beneath the code, to bring the code or its image into canonical alignment with an optimum reading direction for the code. Automated reading of the codes on randomly-orientated AST disks is therefore possible.

  • Publication number: 20060065721
Abstract: A system and method for providing an expandable, configurable and adaptable POS terminal having a common chassis in relation to a retailer's requirements without requiring a retailer to reconfigure or swap out the logic board of the POS terminal is provided. The POS terminal of the present invention includes a common chassis forming an interior compartment for housing the internal components of the POS terminal including a PC motherboard and riser cards having POS functionality. The footprint, appearance and connectivity of the POS terminal is also adaptable to reflect retailer requirements without the need to modify or exchange the logic board of the POS terminal. Such a system and method allows for improved in-field upgrades, improvements and extensions; automatic detection of configured technology via panel cards and riser cards; coupling and mixing of a plurality of connective technologies; and customization of unique connector configurations and external preferences for a specific retail environment.

  • Patent number: 3985038
Abstract: A self-propelled combine has a series of rotary paddles for moving the crop rearwardly along the feeder housing from the platform to the combine separation system. The paddles are driven by a series of interconnected chain drives on the side of the feeder house, each drive including a chain trained around sprockets on the adjacent paddle shafts, and each drive is provided with an adjustable idler to vary the chain tension. Each idler includes a hexagonal shaft mounted in a support for adjustment normal to the shaft axis, and a ball type bearing is mounted on the shaft, the bearing having an inner periphery conforming to the shaft cross section so that it is axially slidable but nonrotatable thereon. The outer race of the bearing is provided with a sprocket that engages the drive chain, and the idler shift freely shifts along the shaft within limits to stay in alignment with the driven and driven sprockets.

  • Patent number: 3973380
Abstract: A self-propelled combine has a forward transversely elongated harvesting platform mounted on the forward end of a forwardly and downwardly inclined feeder housing through which the crop is fed to a separating mechanism in the combine body. A plurality of axially transverse paddle type impellers are mounted in the feeder housing and extend between the opposite sides of the housing immediately above the housing floor, the impellers being rotated in the same direction so that the impeller paddles move rearwardly along the floor, whereby the crop material is engaged by successive paddles and moved upwardly and rearwardly along the housing floor to the separating mechanism.
