  • Patent number: 7164243
Abstract: A system and method for establishing a plurality of operating parameters of a multiphase motor. The plurality of electrical parameters may be established from stator resistance data and electrical input data. The system and method may be used to decompose the electrical input data into a positive sequence and a negative sequence. The positive sequence may be used to establish a plurality of electrical parameters of the motor. The plurality of electrical parameters may be used with the positive sequence and negative sequence to establish the output power of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4199700
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine utilizing stiff, multiple component phase leads for connecting potentially misaligned stator coils and parallel phase rings. The phase leads, when attached to stator coil and phase ring coolant headers, provide electrical communication therebetween. The first and second phase lead components have a hole and cylindrical portion respectively wherein the cylindrical portion is insertable in the hole. Such phase lead hole has a longitudinal axis perpendicular to both slot elongation directions. Intimate electrical contact between the phase lead components and their connected coolant headers is insured by disposidng solder between their mateable, plane surfaces. Intimate electrical contact between the phase lead components is insured by brazing the components together at the interface between the assembled cylindrical portion and hole.

  • Patent number: 4172984
Abstract: A fluidly cooled flat plate neutral bus for electrically connecting the neutral bushings on dynamoelectric machines. The current carrying flat plate is in heat transmissive contact with a coolant carrying conduit which transfers heat generated in the neutral bus to the coolant flowing therethrough. The fluidly cooled flat plate neutral bus provides high heat flux while occupying a small volume.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION1. Field of the Invention:This invention relates to the neutral bushings on dynamoelectric electric machines, and more particularly to means for electrically connecting those neutral bushings and means for cooling the electrically connecting means.2. Description of the Prior Art:Large turbine generators often have several (three for a three-phase machine) neutral lead bushings which are electrically connected by a bus. Several schemes have been utilized in the past to remove the heat generated in the bus as a result of the current flow therethrough during generator operation.

  • Patent number: 4172243
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrical transformer having a core and coil assembly mounted in a hollow case and a method of manufacturing the case. The hollow case has cast at least one cooling duct within it. Each cooling duct is a hollow tube, formed into a loop, with its ends brazed into a manifold. The manifold has nipples brazed into it which provide a connecting passage for the flow of coolant through the nipples into the manifold and through the tubes that have been cast within the transformer case.
