  • Patent number: 4966381
Abstract: A tricycle including a generally horizontal perimeter frame supported above the ground by a pair of rear wheels and a steerable front wheel. The perimeter frame is continuous along one side and front and back while having an opening in the opposite side just ahead of the rear wheel serving as a pass-thru for ease of entry and egress with regard to a seat positioned generally between the rear wheels. An openable gate may be provided which fits into the opening and renders this side of the frame continuous. The device is propelled by foot rotation of a forwardly positioned foot crank which is held for rotation along a generally horizontal axis between the sides of the frame. A chain gear is connected at one end of the foot crank which driveably engages an endless chain positioned in elongated fashion along one side of the frame. The chain then driveably engages a second chain gear connected to one rear wheel.

  • Patent number: 4532998
Abstract: A lawn edger device is disclosed having a motor and a cutter blade supported by a platform and a handle mounted hand control for varying the depth of the cutter blade relative the ground. The platform includes a first and a second end, the first end being supported by a first set of ground engaging wheels. A first arm is pivotally connected to the second end of the platform. The distal end of the first arm rotatably supports a second set of the ground engaging wheels. A connecting arm is secured to the first arm and includes a toothed portion which cooperates with a locking plate rigidly connected to the platform. The toothed portion cooperates with the locking plate to variably adjust the longitudinal disposition of the connecting arm relative the locking plate.

  • Patent number: 4432561
Abstract: An amusement tricycle wherein the operator is transported in an inclining position on a hammock cradle. the cradle is carried by a front wheel which does not pivot relative to the cradle. The cradle and wheel rotate about a downwardly sloping axis to turn. The cradle is supported to the rear by a two wheel buggy. The cradle is mounted on the buggy by a pivot. The pivot rotates about the axis. The buggy in turn, is stabilized by pivotal attachment to the cradle.

  • Patent number: 4203612
Abstract: A velocipede has a frame with front and rear frame parts interconnected by a coupling so that the velocipede may be collapsed for storage or shipment, and so that it may be converted into different forms such as a tricycle or a bicycle, for example. In the illustrated examples the velocipede has a typical chain drive including pedals on a crank journalled in a crank hanger tube which is part of the rear frame part. The coupling includes the crank hanger tube which is snugly received in an upwardly opening cradle forming part of the front frame part. A tab at the top of the rear of the cradle is received in a slot in the rear of the crank hanger tube, and the front of the tube carries an upwardly extending plate with an alignment guide received in a hole in an upwardly extending plate of the front of the cradle to maintain the front and rear frame parts in alignment crosswise of the frame.
