  • Publication number: 20160207802
Abstract: A liquid waste cleaning station for removing solids is described. The station comprises at least one pump for pumping liquid waste through the station. A floc-delivery module is provided, in fluid communication with the at least one pump for preparing and metering into the liquid waste a selected quantity of flocculent material. A blender in fluid communication with the floc-delivery module subjects the mixture of liquid waste and flocculent material to both mixing action and time to promote flocculation. A filtering device in fluid communication with the blender provides a pore size suitable for retaining formed floc, thereby removing it from the separated water portion. A liquid waste cleaning process to remove solids is also described.

  • Patent number: 8684095
Abstract: A pipe setting tool includes a tool shaft, a coupler mounted on a first end of the tool shaft, and a tool sleeve affixed to the tool shaft defining a space therebetween. An outside diameter of the tool sleeve ensures close conformity to a borehole to position a geothermal pipe mounted thereto in close proximity to the outside diameter of the borehole. A moveable seal cap may be mounted on the tool shaft, moveable between a first position spaced-apart from the tool sleeve during down-hole movement of the tool to permit fluid flow through the space and a second position against the tool sleeve during up-hole movement of the tool to establish a seal with the tool sleeve to prevent fluid flow through the space. A second end of the tool shaft may receive a pipe hook to attach a geothermal pipe to the pipe setting tool.

  • Patent number: 8168067
Abstract: A process for treating and disposing a liquid waste, which is solidified prior to disposal, includes steps of adding to said liquid waste a dry treatment product generally comprising approximately 25% to 75% bentonite clay and respectively 75% to 25% of a liquid-sorbing polymer, subjecting the liquid waste to a single pass high shear mix so as to incorporate the treatment product into the liquid waste with increased dispersion and reduced agglomeration, subjecting the treated liquid waste to a retention time suitable for solidification, and disposing of the solidified liquid waste. The liquid waste preferably is recirculated prior to addition of dry treatment product so as to permit a calibration of the characteristics of the liquid waste, and subsequent determination of the correct rate of dry treatment addition.

  • Patent number: 7901571
Abstract: A flow-through mixing apparatus for incorporating a dry treatment product into a waste stream. The apparatus comprises a pump for directing a liquid waste from a storage pit/tank, a mixer that receives the liquid waste from the pump, and a valve downstream of the mixer for either recirculating the liquid waste back to the storage pit/tank via a recirculation conduit, or directing the liquid waste to a discharge conduit. The mixer comprising a jet nozzle, a venturi tube and a high-shear assembly. The recirculation conduit establishes a calibration loop for determining the appropriate treatment regimen based on the characteristics of the waste liquid. The recirculation conduit also permits the homogenization of the pit/tank contents prior to addition of the dry treatment product. The dry treatment product introduced in the region of the mixer is subjected high shear forces, thereby incorporating the dry treatment product into the waste stream with increased dispersion and reduced agglomeration.

  • Publication number: 20090001000
Abstract: An apparatus for treating liquid waste material includes first adding a chemical flocculent to the liquid waste material followed in a mixer to promote flocculation. The floc material is subsequently separated to produce a bulk clarified liquid, with the floc material being subjected to a solids separator to extract further bulk clarified liquid. The collected bulk clarified liquid is then recycled back in a recycle loop into at least one of the steps of adding a chemical flocculent and solids separation of the floc material. The apparatus is suitable for use with a wide variety of liquid waste materials ranging from agricultural and human waste to industrial waste. An apparatus for treating liquid waste material is also provided.
